There is two caps on the a/c one is smaller than the other but note if you have no Freon at all then it will need pulled down on a vacuum to check for leaks . you may need to take it to a shop. if you over charge it you could damage your a/c unit or lines.

Follow the suction hose from the A/C pump back toward the evaporator. You should run into a port. Unscrew the cap and connect your charge guage. I hope this helps.

If you need to add refrigerant, you have a leak.

Repair the leak first, don't polute the atmosphere

Take it to a shop, that has people licenced to purchase and use refrigerant correctly.

Why the ac on my 2000 lincoln ls is no working

chances are that its just low on R134 refrigerant ... .. thats the new stuff that replaced freon (R12) years ago ... R134 is a smaller molicule so it leaks out much more easily ... in many cars it has to be topped off periodically ...there are kits available (with a gage) that will allow you to top off the R134 yourself if you are mecanically inclined ... if not then professional places can test for leaks and other problems and recharge your system.

Cannot find where to recharge ac on lincoln LS

The recharge valve is under the engine on the drivers side in front of the tire. you have to remove the protective plate for the compressor then you will find the valve. You might have to jack the car up to get to the plate. I didnt but i have long arms.
