SOURCE: Pioneer elite tv turns off from a pop sound and manual says-will

It is most likely the power supply. Do not try to fix this yourself. There are LETHAL voltages inside such a TV, which can persist for WEEKS after it has been turned off.

Hello how do i set the convergence manualy on a pioneer elite pro-710hd projection tv i dont have the remote and dont know how to bring the menue up on the tv

You MUST have the remote to perform service operations on the Elites. Look on ebay or do a google search for Pioneer 710 remote.
There is no way to manually do convergence without a remote, and no way to call up the convergence menu.

My pioneer prohd710 64" video changes from color to BW from time to time. What is going on? Also when I power off it give a loud noise compared to a quiet click I am Used to hear.

If using a box of some sort unplug it first and then later plug it back (do same with set) .

This will allow both units to reboot and may or may not cure your issues.

The pop at turn off suggests either a audio problem or a power supply issue.

Due to the age of the set the only common issue here is these sets develop bad solder connections from age----mostly on the power supply board inside the set.

no reset sequence. usually when the protection kicks in without any warning, it's the convergence ICs needing replacement.

This a factory issue and usually requires service. Most cases it is a bad power supply caused by a surge or powering off and on too fast ... sorry I wish I had better news

Power Supply repair

SHUT YOUR UNIT DOWN NOW.  We don't want further and more expensive repairs to be needed because of the threat of the domino effect to boards downline from this one, that not remedying this situation carries with it, every moment it has warmed up and is running, in this intermittent condition.
This is a problem that is very widespread on this series of unit, and I have been 100% successful in remedying it so far, both on location and by doing the repair op on boards sent to me from many parts of the continent, and returned by me ready to go.  This has been happening over and over and over again - many Pioneer Elite - and non-Elite - boards have been sent my way, with owners totally blitzed to have their sets up and running faithfully again, after the repair.
Please call me for details and leave me contact info for you, and also send me a request via email, at bob at imageperfection dot com.
I am not at home and can't reach for that stuff to email you, which I can do later once I'm home again later today.

Pioneer elite pro 100

My set is doing the same thing again. The last time I fixed this (4 years ago) it was a capacitor gone bad in the power supply for the 24v standby circuit. (C166)
The service manuals can be ordered directly from Pioneer Part Number ARP3014 for Pro-100 model.
