SOURCE: Fuel Filter in Freelander (replacing)

The fuel filter is located below the electrics box, half way between the battery and the bulkhead on the passenger side, under the bonnet. It is very difficult to see how it all fits, but it has a central screw which holds the plastic filter housing/mounting in place. Find this screw (which is a small self tapper) and be prepared to loose it, or use a magnetic screw driver. Then lift the plastic housing up and away, (towards the engine) be ready with loads of rags to catch the diesel fuel when you disconnect the pipes. There is an earth wire attached to the housing also. (anti interference, I think) It is quite a fiddle getting it back again, as it has two locating lugs on the back of the plastic housing/mounting.

Hydraulic lifters? I have been racking my brains for this one. Lifters will sometimes pump up when cold and then lose pressure as they get worked. Would explain why your camshaft died. Suggest you look at old camshaft, see the cams that were worn and replace those lifters. Only thing I can come up with!

Constant engine jerking and misfiring

What the problem might be is that you need a tune up. New spark plugs( NGK Laser Platinum- $10.00 ea.) and new ignition coils at 18.00 ea from ebay.com. All you need is a good mechanic or someone like me that is good with cars to put them on and you will see the difference.

Land Rover Freelander TD 4 GS. Can headlights on a right hand drive be adjusted to left hand drive specification

They can be adjusted, so they dont blind oncoming traffic, however, if you are going abroad for a short time, then its best to just fit headlamp beam deflectors on the headlamps, you can get those at halfords etc

Connect four wheel drive for a freelander land rover 2005

The Freelander, along with all Land Rovers are permanently in 4 wheel drive: You need to take the car to a workshop to see what is happening. Freelanders have big problems with the transfer box, this maybe the problem. When you reverse the car and put the car steering to full lock whilst reversing, do you feel that the car is blocking or binding, as though you have the brakes on. If so this is an indication that the transfer box is faulty. These boxes cannot be repaired, replacement only and are quite expensive.
Hope this helps

Shaking uphill

If this Land Rover has an Automatic transmission or if you are using full time four wheel drive the problem is in the chain driven transfer case. You need a transmission rebuild.
