the Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty. Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000

SOURCE: power button wont turn on or off not working but

I am having same problem- power button will not operate at all. If I open the door and manually spin the drum with my hand, the machine will power up, just as if I pushed the power button. It will then wash your load without problem, but I really would like to have the power button work. Only had it two years so far!

SOURCE: LG Tromm will not turn on.

I have put mine on a surge protector. It is a computer after all. It is hard to say whether or not you have suffered damage to the motherboard. Trial and error testing to see if you have power at your outlet. Hopefully you can repower and all will be well.

sounds like a loose connection either going to the main control board or a break in your power cord or the main harness has a fault in one of the connection locations to the main control the control is located under the upper control area this is also the schematic for your machine showing how to access the control area http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/K0810327-00001.png this repair will require you to break out the multimeter if you are unable to visually see any misconnection I await your reply for any further questions Thanks Rick
p.s there is also a relay located on the power board and if you dont find any issue with the wiring it may just be the relay that is hooked on to the main control board as well. I await your reply

I can almost certainly tell you that Your Pump is gone! There is no way to check them because the symptom you describe is the check! The pumps go for $35 to $135. So shop around and get ready to take your entire machine apart. Good luck

Did you try switching the power on whilst holding the start button only for at least ten seconds.if you can pull the machine out enough to tip it 45 degrees toward the rear so no water leaks when you open the penny trap to see if a button of coin has lodged in the drain pump.good luck.

This is something that you NEED to call LG on and have them fix it! Because I can tell you it is a fault in your computer board. Cost $200-700 dollars!!!! Yeah right! If you need to replace the Brain of any unit you might as well get another unit. It was faulty from day One!!!!

DOOR STAY LOCK

There is a safety (Anti-Child Entry) switch that is not resetting. First try to reset the machine. This is done by unplugging it from the power source for 30 minutes and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work you need to Push the Wash Button X 3 seconds to disable it.

check the lid switch first, can you hear any "clicking" just before the lid is closed, try opening and closing a few times listening closely for he click, if not sounds like a bad lid switch(not recognizing the lid is closed and for safety reasons will not advance further.(far more common issue hen the timer)
