I have a piano made by Laffargue piano co ewyork. The serial number is 70805. The piano has Seaverns written on it. Can you tell me the age of my piano please?

(1905)!! Please Read On How To Tell How Old Your Piano Is !! I Learned This From Grandma !!
Piano serial numbers usually have five to seven digits, but may have fewer or more, depending on the manufacturer and age of your piano. Serial numbers may also include a letter as well.
Here are the TOP FIVE places to locate the serial number of your spinet, console, or upright piano:
Serial number locations are found:
1) On the piano's cast iron plate. After lifting up the lid, look along the top front area of the plate. The serial number may be to the right or the left, or in the middle.

2) Under the opened lid on the ledge, stamped on a little plaque, to the right or to the left.

3) Stamped on the back of the piano; near the top of the wood frame.

4) Printed on one of the hammers, found on either end of the piano (newer or imported pianos).

5) Printed on one the keys - behind the nameboard, inside the piano (newer or imported pianos)

27439 nordheimer by heintzman piano how old is it

The Nordheimer Piano & Organ Company was established by brothers Samuel and Abraham Nordheimer in 1844. The firm was located at 122 King Street, Toronto. For the first 2 decades, the firm worked as importers and retailers of pianos, organs and melodeons. In about 1866 they built their first pianos with much success. The firm continued to grow and flourish during the rest of the 19th Century, building a full line of uprights, squares, and reed organs. In 1886, The Nordheimer Brothers went into partnership with Gerhard Heintzman of Toronto and opened the Lansdowne Piano Company, Ltd. In 1890, Nordheimer built a new, state-of-the-art factory in East Toronto. In 1927, Heintzman purchased the Nordheimer name and continued to produce Nordheimer pianos until the 1960's.
It would appear your serial number relates to the years between 1931>1932...

How can I fix it?

If it only works in certain positions then the normal fault is that the solder connection breaks on the circuit board and will need to be replaced.

Locate the circuit board DCIN and unsolder socket and replace, check the solder tabs on the circuit board as these sometimes breakaway. You will need to bridge these along the track if they are damaged.

I have a yamaha p-155 88 key digital piano the upper octave has no sound

Try local Yamaha dealer. They may not make house calls, few people these days do.

What you might try if you are up to the challenge is flip the keyboard over- unplug it. remove the screws that hold the top and bottom shells together- do not let weight of unit rest on keys, especially when opening it up.

Look for physical damage to the keyboard action in the vicinity of the nonfunctional section. Check for broken printed circuit board. If you see any cracks, see where it ends and drill a small hole at the end of the crack to halt propagation. clean the varnish off the circuit tracks and tin the broken tracks first on either side of the break then bridge them with solder. Use a modest sized soldering iron and small diameter (rosin core only) solder. If there are any broken wire connections, resolder them. This may require part of the action to be removed from case- take pictures first before proceeding- make sure they show exactly where the connectors are and what wires are present. etc. You want to be able to refer to the pictures in the event you forget details of disassembly.

If nothing looks out of place, look for solder joints that do not appear to have flown out nicely- reflow them adding a little solder.

I would like to disassemble fisher price baby grand piano??

Should just use a philips head screwdriver. All screws are probably on the bottom. All electronics are probably screw down to the top white part. Hope this helps.

Hi there, I have a Nord Stage EX 76 and played a gig on friday night outdoors. I have set the keyboard up and now one or two of the notes occasionally sound much louder than they should. The problem...

What has happened is that one of the contacts on those notes is not working properly. Each key has two contacts. One makes before the other as the key is pressed. The processor MEASURES the time between those as you hit the key to read the VELOCITY you have hit the key with. This velocity is often used for loudness on many voices such as the piano. These contacts are USUALLY conductive rubber pills suspended in silicone rubber "domes". One can disassemble the key area and clean BOTH the black rubber pills and the circuit traces they are pressed against using Q Tips and ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol to restore proper operation
One needs to be very careful when disassembling unit as there are many tender ribbon cables and connectors. Best to have clear work area and two people to "control" the halves of the shell while opening..

What type of sustain pedal Roland EP-90 digital piano is using - open or closed at rest?

CLOSED is typical for Roland pianos when at rest. (open to sustain).

Note that the jack PROBABLY has a grounding contact so when no pedal is used/plugged in, the jack is shorted at the piano.
