Ghost printing on my Brother DCP 7030 all in one printer

Hello. My letterhead seems to be ghost writing a few inch further down the paper when i print on it. I have tried a new toner with no success. However I have tried printing on the same letterhead on my other two laser jet printers (samsung scx-4200 & samsung ml-2165w) and find that no ghost wrting occurs! This leads me to believe the problem is isolated to the Brother 7030 and not the letterhead itself. Any ideas/tips would be great. Thanks.

Hello,
The problem you are having is caused by the fuser. The fuser is the part in the printer that heats up and basically melts ( fuses) the toner to the page. The fuser has a heat roller that is coated with teflon, your fuser coating has worn off in spots so the toner is sticking to the roller and causing the ghost image. You will need to order a replacement fuser. You can do a search on Google to find a replacement, the parts number is RM1-1082.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

SOURCE: Ghost printing

Hello,

You have a worn image drum. The drum is the part of the printer that the print image is created on before it transfers the toner to the paper. This part is coated with a very thin layer of Teflon so the toner does not stick. When it gets worn the toner starts to stick and that produces the shadow or ghost image approximately 3 inches down the page because the diameter of the drum roller is 3 inches. You will need to get the part DR-350, Office Depot has them as well as many places on the internet.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

SOMEBODY CAN WE HELP US? WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH DUPLEX LEXMARK X644.

If you mean that you are getting a ghost image of the letterhead on the page this is caused by not setting the paper type to letter head which caused the temperature to be wrong and print does not bond. Or you may have a bad fuser or bad toner cartridge. Try setting the paper type to letterhead or bond first to see if that helps.

Ghost writing on my Brother DCP-7030 all in one printer

Ghosting on machines can be one of several causes.

  1. Poor Quality/ Damp toner - Replace the toner cartridge

  2. Worn Drum Unit - Replace the Drum Unit

  3. Fuser Unit Failing - Replace the Fuser Unit (Normally more than the printer is worth).

  4. Damp Paper - Open a new ream of paper and try printing again (This is the cheapest option to start with diagnosis).

Ghost printing

Some time the ghost is because of the drum unit, replace it, other times if the environment is really wet I mean raining for several days I have the ghost problem as well, caused by the paper humidity.

Ghost images of the same printing repeated down the page

Run a half test. While printing a few pages, open the cover, pull out the toner and look down at the paper. If you see the ghost images replace the toner. If you don't see the ghost images, replace the fuser.

If you are using non brother toner then that's the problem, if not it is the drum unit.
