How to replace Canon powershot sx150is internal battery

I can't find the internal battery on this camera. I need to replace it. Any idea where it is? I have looked under the main battery cover and also the usb cover. There's nothing obvious under there, although some people say that's where it is.

Thanks but it's not in the manual and Canon told me it needs to go in for a service to have the battery replaced. But I refuse to pay for an expensive service just to replace a CMOS battery. So I opened the camera by unscrewing the casing and found the battery (under the cover on the left hand side looking from the back). But there was a piece of spring metal going over the battery (the contact spring), preventing me from pulling the battery out and it was obvious that the front cover needed to come off too. That looked more tricky, so I carefully bent the spring contact out of the way, then levered the battery out with a small screwdriver. I then pushed the battery back in and bent the contact back into place, wedging it onto the battery with a small piece of card, because it was no out of shape. A botch, I know, but the camera now works fine and I fixed it for the price of a battery and it'll last me another few years before I have to do it again. It took me 10-15 minutes in total.

SOURCE: Replace Battery Cover

to get to the battery door you must remove the back, to remove the back you must remove the top of the grip (shutter button and dial and WT lever). remove top of grip... 1) starting at the bottom of the plastic strip (along the front edge of the grip) that holds the shutter button, slide upward, the strip will bow outward and after about 3/16", the bottom's free. the only other thing holding it in place is a bit of double-stick tape and a similar clip at the top. CAREFUL! there's a spring under the button that's easy to lose. 2) Inside the battery case, front battery, all the way at the top, there's a tiny phillips screw, pull it. 3) peel away the right side rubber grip right by where your thumb meets the W on the W/T lever. 1st hole you'll see is a springy clip, keep going around to the right til you find a screw. pull that. 4) back to the springy clip hole, pushing inward on the finger, the top will come off straight up. leave it hanging, you just need it out of the way so the back can come loose. remove the back... 5) bottom of camera, remove 2 screws nearest the CE label and one outboard of the rearmost battery. 6) viewfinder cap: 4 screws, skinny on top, fatter on the bottom. the cap pops off. 7) lcd cover/frame: pull away from viewfinder(top) edge about 1/4 inch. the bottom's held by fingers; they need to slide to the left 1/8", then that's off. 8) remove screw @ lowerleft of lcd. now the whole back will slide rearward. 1st thing loose is memory door, remove it. slide the back off, out of the way. you'll now see that the battery door is held on by two hinge pins, not one continuous. the rearmost pin will slide left into the memory cover area, and the door will flex enough to remove it toward the front. trickiest part of reassembly is the spring under the shutter button. balance the spring on the camera, put the button into place. hold it in place with the screwdriver through eye of plastic strip, leaves plenty of room to seat the strip. lose a screw? I did, and the least-needed one is the one pulled at #3.

Make sure you are using Lithium batteries. Alkaline batteries will go dead immediately in this camera. I've tried it.

SOURCE: canon EOS 400D will not power up

Generally a fuse blows on these, on the DC/DC converter (psu ) board. This is situated on the front of the camera, fairly easy to get at just involves undoing loads of screws!! The fuse is marked "K", replace or short out with a thin piece of wire. May be caused by changing lenses with the power on, but not sure.
Watch for the charged flash capacitor though!!
Had this problem with mine.

SOURCE: I have a Canon Powershot A560. The date and time

Think your problem is that you are looking in the wrong spot. Don't know why your manual is telling you to look there (are you sure your manual is for the A560)?
Your CR1220 date/time battery is located in the regular battery compartment. Look right beside your AA batteries. You'll see a little flap labeled "CR1220". Slide this open with your fingernail, and take the little coin battery down to your local drugstore to buy a replacement.

Cannot connect to camera

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

Good morning, Every time I switch on my Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera I have to enter the date and time. Is there any internal battery that I can change? Thanks

Yes there is an internal back up battery/capacitor on the main microprocessor board which is within the camera /backed up by the main battery. Please leave the main battery in the camera and see if this stays. If there is no other issue with the camera than this I would advise that you leave this off for the time being unless you are experienced to open and check and replace.

Where do I buy an internal battery for a Canon Powershot A560?

CR1220 batteries are needed for the clock and AA batteries to power up the camera itself. They are widely available and plenty are available on eBay or Amazon websites.

My Canon SD950is camera asks me to submit time/date info every time I turn on the camera. The manual says this means the internal battery is depleted and needs to be recharged. I have a fully charged...

Yes I get something similar with my Panasonic camera just because I take the battery out when the camera is waiting for the next outing, but it is ok as soon as I set the clock and if I leave the battery in. From what you said then perhaps the internal battery is faulty but if you don't usually leave the battery in, you could try leaving the battery in for a few days to see if that restores some power to the internal battery.

Need to set date and time at each starting. have changed 1220 battery what could be the reason

It sounds like you or the camera is not saving the settings. Refer to your manual for a step-by-step setting of the time. You're probably just not hitting some "save" key.
