Compatible basebands (BB) for ultrasn0w 1.2.2:
06.15.00 - iOS 3.2.2 from iPad (read further for details)
05.13.04 / 01.59.00 - iOS 4.0.2, 4.0.1 & 4.0
05.12.01 - iOS 3.1.3
05.11.07 - iOS 3.1 & 3.1.2
04.26.08 - iOS 3.0
Notice that BB 05.14.02 & 05.15.04 are NOT part of the list. You need to update these BB to 06.15.00 for ultrasn0w unlock to work. Read further for more info.
However, if your BB is 05.13.04 or lower, you can proceed with jailbreaking but make sure you DO NOT INSTALL THE IPAD BASEBAND.
WARNING: Read the following consequences of updating BB to 06.15.00:
There is no way to come back down from 06.15, & there's no hiding the baseband version from Apple. You'll be voiding your warranty in a very obvious way.
If some future baseband comes out with a critical fix, you won't be able to update to it if it remains down in the 05.xx sequence (then again, you wouldn't update to it if you wanted to keep your unlock anyway).
Starting with FW 4.2.1 if you have 06.15 on your iPhone you won't ever be able to restore to stock firmware (it will fail). You'll need to only restore to custom IPSWs (then again, if you're unlocker you should already be doing that).
NOTE: Download iPad's 3.2.2 IPSW ONLY if you'll use PwnageTool. Also, download ONLY the IPSW for your current iOS version. CLICK HERE if you have no idea what version is installed on your iDevice, especially if it's currently disabled.
For jailbreaking other iOS versions like 4.3.2, use other versions of redsn0w. CLICK HERE to see the list of all redsn0w versions.
PART 1 - JAILBREAKING with redsn0w (all iDevices):
Connect your iDevice to the computer, run redsn0w & click Browse
Locate IPSW for your current iOS, select it & click Open
Wait until it say IPSW successfully identified. Click Next
If you plan to unlock your iPhone 3G / 3GS old bootrom, you need to check Install iPad baseband to update BB to 06.15.00 Click Yes if you're OK with these consequences:Again, you only need this option if your BB is either 05.14.02 or 05.15.04. This will result to updating your BB to 06.15.00 which can be unlocked using ultrasn0w. Also, if your BB is 05.13.04 or lower, this jailbreak will still work for your iPhone but make sure you DO NOT INSTALL THE IPAD BB! You don't need it! For iPod touch users, the BB thing does not apply for you. so you have nothing to worry about.
Choose some more options before you click Next
Turn OFF your iDevice & prepare to put it to DFU mode then click Next
DFU mode: Press & hold the POWER button for 3 seconds
DFU mode: Press & hold HOME button while still holding on the POWER button for 10sec
DFU mode: Release the POWER button but keep holding on the HOME button for another 15 seconds or until you see Jailbreaking... on redsn0w
Wait until it tells you that The rest of the process takes place on your iDevice. Click Finish That will take around 8 to 9 minutes to complete
Once the jailbreak is done, open your iDevice & you'll find Cydia on the 2nd page of your homescreen. Watch this video: PART 2 - UNLOCKING with ultrasn0w (iPhone ONLY):
Open CydiaDon't worry if Cydia's icon is blank/all-white, it will still work. The first time you open Cydia, this is what you'll see (image below), then it will close itself and take you back to the homescreen
Open Cydia again. Before you proceed with the unlock, go to Changes first and do a Complete Upgrade
Tap Reboot Device after the upgrade
After reboot, you can then unlock. Open Cydia again (for the third time), and tap the following (in sequence):
Tap Install, then tap Confirm
And finally, tap Reboot Device
And you're all done! Your iPhone should catch signal after the reboot.

you have no choice but to replace the ipsw(firmware) file on the iPhone.
1. download selected firmware from here http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/
2. go to iTunes and dock you iphone to the computer.
3. Holding "shift" key click on iPhone restore. it will open up a new window in which u will have to select "the .ipsw file u downloaded"
4. select it and click restore.
5. wait for everything to be done.
First, put your device into DFU mode. Next option restore to the 3.1.3 ipsw. It should give you an error (1505 I think) and it will enter recovery mode. After that run blackra1n rc3 and the iPhone will go to a black screen. Hold down the home button and the power button until it restarts. Then when it turns on iTunes will activate it. Good luck
The above list also represents all supported iDevices by sn0wbreeze.
Run sn0wbreeze, click OK, click Close Credits and click Next
Click Browse and locate the official 4.1 IPSW for your iDevice
Select your IPSW and click Open
sn0wbreeze identifies your iDevice base from the iPSW you selected. Once it's done, click Next
Select Expert Mode then click Next
Select General then click Next
Choose your preferences then click Next Basically, the 3 options on the left are for iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G users only because these features are already available (as a default) on newer iDevices such as the iPhone 4. Activating is for iPhone users only. Lastly, SSH is something that let's you access the files and folders on your iDevice. You don't wanna mess with this if it's new to you.
Click Next again
Click Build IPSW then click Next
Wait until sn0wbreeze finishes creating your custome IPSW. Click OK once it says Done You will find the new custom IPSW saved on your Desktop. The filename should contain the word "sn0wbreeze_" on it so there's no chance that you get it confused with the official IPSW from Apple. Watch this video...
Plug in/connect your iDevice to your PC (computer)
Turn your iDevice OFF and prepare to put it to DFU mode You can also opt to close sn0wbreeze and use iReb instead. Download iReb HERE.
Click on Start.
Press and hold POWER and HOME buttons for 10 seconds
Release POWER but keep holding the HOME button for another 30 seconds
Release HOME button once sn0wbreeze says Running iReb...
After that it will tell you: Your device is now in a PWNED DFU state. Just click OK
Then iTunes will detect your device in recovery mode. Click OK again
On your computer's keyboard, press and hold SHIFT before you click on Restore (on iTunes)
Locate the custom IPSW you created using sn0wbreeze
Select the correct IPSW and click Open
Click Restore and that's the final step. All you need to do now is wait. After the restore is done, iTunes will ask you to set up your iDevice. In case you come across any kind of error, use iReb to put your iDevice on a PWNED DFU state. Download it HERE.
Once that is complete, you will find Cydia on the 2nd page of your iDevice's homescreen.
And for iPhone users, next thing to do is to UNLOCK. CLICK HERE to learn how.
This will guide you on updating your iPhone 4 to iOS version 4.1 while retaining / keeping your baseband to 01.59.00.
This is for iPhone 4's which are currently on an older iOS version - 4.0.2, 4.0.1 or 4.0. If you didn't do when you update to 4.1, this process cannot downgrade your baseband from 02.10.04 to 01.59.00. This will only keep the 01.59.00 baseband when UPDATING to 4.1.
WARNING: This is for iPhone 4 ONLY! DO NOT attempt to do this on an iPhone 3GS or 3G. I tried this on one of my iPhone 3G, and it failed, the baseband was updated! The result, it can't be unlocked! I assume the same will happen on a 3GS although I haven't tested it yet.
