Olympus vg 170

To make it possible, to point out where the problem is, you could try some rings.
Try to charge the camera with an external power supply. If you have it, the F-2AC from Olympus.
If that also does not charge, you could try to replace the USB cable.
But if the camera starts charging, you have to look for the USB connector in the computer. Be aware, in some computers the power, delivered from a USB connector, should be capable of giving 5 volt and 500 mA. Sometimes internally the computer is not correct wired, and won't give the 5 volt at all. Special when you hav build the computer yourself, you can check inside the computer. BUT ONLY when is sure the camera can charge via an external USB charger.

Then you could check if nothing is wrong in the camera. All contacts, on battery and in the camera, should be clean and shiny. You could clean contacts with a dry cloth. Never use sharp tools.
Also check the USB connector on the camera, if no debris is in the connector, or no contact is bent or has corrosion on it.

Usb device not recognised lexmark s405, tried all advice listed in google pages except petrol & lighter.

Have you tried using another USB cable? You can also try plugging the printer in to a different USB port in your computer.

Also, try to plug in the printer to a different computer, if it works then there's a problem with the USB port of your computer. If it still doesn't recognize the printer, it could be the USB cable that's causing the problem or the USB port of your printer. If that's the case and your printer is still under warranty, contact our technical support team to have the printer replaced. You can find the contact number at our site: www.lexmark.com.

Unable to turn on from power button

This sounds like a USB problem. If there is a short or damage within the port the computor will detect it and prevent it from starting. Usually it's a USB port you always use. This may help, Plug in the mains charger and remove all USB devices. This will confirm weather its the computer or a USB cable/device. If the computer still doesn't start, get a bright light and a magnifying glass and look inside all the USB ports on the computer. In the middle of the port there is a flat plastic piece with 4 metal contacts attached to it. Check to see if they are bent, twisted or flattened in any way and with a pin or other suitable pointy device, attempt to straighten any damaged contacts. If you cannot get the contacts aligned, just try to get them away from each other and away from the wall of the port, then insert a piece of card or folded paper above and below the contact strip and tape them down. This will insulate the port and stop a reoccurance of the problem. You should find the computer starts (with a few complaints from windows) normally. this has worked for me 9 times out of 10 for this problem.
Good luck.

I broke the connector from my cruzer usb flash drive. The silver connector is lost and now 4 wires are sticking out. Help!.

Try to backup the data you already have in it to a computer. Carefully insert the four wires and the remainder of what's left into a computer's USB port - be careful not to short any of the contacts together or to the chassis of the computer. Make sure the contacts are connected to their corresponding contacts in the USB jack of the input.

Check the contacts on the plug and make sure nothing is bent and the contacts are clean. Then try another USB port on the computer. Also, check the drive on another computer if it recognizes it - it may be your computer as the problem.

My computer cannot detect usb my computer model is 6bxa-61 samsung

You were saying that your computer could not detect any USB devices? Or just one USB device? Alright, you need to isolate the problem, follow the steps below:

1. Use at least 3 USB devices and connect them one at a time to the USB ports of your computer. If the first USB device is not detected, mark the USB port on your computer with "X" mark.

2. Now, connect the same USB device to another USB port of the computer. If you get the same problem, use the second USB device and connect it to the computer. If all 3 USB devices are getting the same problem connecting in all the USB ports of the computer (either on the front or on the back of the computer), then you need to update or re-install the USB driver to your computer.

3. Contact the manufacturer if the computer or the board and see if they could provide a USB driver for *********** board. Tell them what operating system (OS) you are currently running.

Have a great day!

I understand that your Isue is "After installing the HP All-in-One software, the computer stops responding during start up when the All-in-One is connected and turned on. The computer will start correctly if the All-in-One is not connected or is turned off."

SOLUTION:

This problem can be resolved by changing the "USB Emulation" in the Computer BIOS settings.
If you are using a DELL Computer just follow my instruction below.

Caution:
If you are using a USB keyboard, do not disable “USB Emulation”, “USB Keyboard Support”, or “USB Legacy Support”. If the settings must be disabled, use a PS/2 keyboard

Change the BIOS on computers from manufacturers other than Dell If you do not have a Dell computer, contact the computer manufacturer for assistance.
