SOURCE: vertical lines while recording Canon zr100 camcorder

I'm positive the camera needs to be cleaned. The recording heads sound like they are dirty and it doesn't matter what tape is placed in there, whether it's new or not. Purchase a cleaning tape from a consumer electronics store. Make sure you read the directions very carefully. The tape actually rubs the recording heads so you only want to do it for a short time to avoid damage. Let me know how it goes.

SOURCE: The problem with Canon PowerSHot S60 Camera.

Your image sensor might be faulty. It is what connects your LCD and the picture in the issue of the horizontal lines. have it checked. Try checking your aperture too.

Do you really need to connect your camera to your computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Canon ZoomBrowser or Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

If you do want to connect them, use the supplied USB cable. Plug one end into the camera and the other into a USB port on the computer.

Vertical lines obscuring image

The matrix is dead. Probably because of an intensive light got into the lense while the camera was in night mode. It's dead. Nothing can be done.
