Problem with hibernating mode

I have recently bought a Sony VAIO VGN-CS61B. When I leave it on hibernate mode, it automatically switches on (usually about 3 + hours later) and restarts itself..why is this happening and how do I stop it from happening?

The hibernate mode is cancelled due to some motion in computer aplication for example: when you press any button in key board than the sestem restart or else if the mouse is touched than the system comes out of hibernate mode. Your cause woud be of due to of mouse movement. so if you want to avoid it than you just need to cover the touch pad with a piece of cloth

Sony VAIO VCG-FE770g, turns on automatically after pressing Hybernate or turn-off

Go into power option, select hibernate, uncheck box to the left to disable hibernate, this will free up disc space and get rid of the problem. If that is not an option do a system restore before the update

The sleep and hibernate buttons are grayed out. Running XP SP3 and on a Sony Vaio VGN-T150

install the keyboard drivers, go here:

Go down to the keyboard section and download that piece of software and install it. That should take care of the sleep and hibernate buttons not working.

Try to Reformat your Laptop and install all the driver. Be sure on the control Panel or click properties then at the appearance tab be sure that on the hibernate tab or on the enable hibernation is checked.

Vgn-fw330j/b wont stay in sleep mode. it awakens by itself.

I know when you have it in hibernation it will come out if simething startsto run in he background. This could be malicious software or just something you have running that activates and brings it out of hibernation. How many things load up when you first start up the computer, you should eliminate all the programs that start when you boot up, you only need to run programms when you want them, see if this solves your problem

Does not Start..

Possible power cable fault, hard to tell really, especially if you ran the laptop battery flat, but it may be a flat cmos (bios) motherboard battery, also check that the hibernate switch where you close your laptop lid is not stuck down as this will dissable power up.
