Unfortunalty I'm not sure how to resolve you current problem. It appears I'm following in your foot steps with the convergence issue (image appears in 3d). I would really appreciate knowing how you resolved this issue (including cost) and if the two issues are related. good luck

I found this solution from SONY's website.
The STANDBY light will flash if an issue is detected within the television. This can sometimes be resolved by simply following the steps below to reset the television.
I hope this helps.

Re-insering the flyback wire is usually very easy. Push in and give a slght turn and check to see if grabbed. It sounds as if there is more issues than flyback wire. TV should turn on without one crt connected

10 blinks is a high voltage protection. This is why it has a retrace lines on the picture. It can't be fixed by reset or unplugging the set from the outlet because there's a faulty parts inside. It needs to troubleshoot the deflection circuitry to determine which part(s) gone bad. You need to ask for an assistance of a qualified TV Technician because this kind of symptoms is not DIY unless you have an experienced in electronics.
Also, check if you're unit is under warranty period/extended warranty, avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the rear cover will void the warranty.
