Question about NComputing Computers & Internet
How to install scanner pc
Posted by Anonymous on
Most installations like this require you to run the install software first.
Then connect the device once the software gives the ok to attach.
Most devices today are USB and these can be plugged in hot.
IDE, Parallel, serial, PS2 etc are not. Meaning don't plug this in when the PC is powered up. Be ready to swap USB ports should the software not detect the device. This is rare but can happen.
USB 2.0 is a standard now with USB 3.0 on many newer machines.
If the Device can utilize USB 3.0 and your pc has this. Use it!
It is very fast and you can recognize a USB 3.0 part by the color.
It will be Blue inside. I have also installed scanners and other devices by connecting the USB cord, power up and then running the software.
Does not seem to matter to most devices now. But it is best to follow the instructions that came with the device.
Good luck and hope this helps!
