Question about LG 42LE5500 42 in. TV
When I switched my LG TV on the screen is blank although the light on the bottom panel shows that the TV is on. It seems I've to leave the TV on (with the blank screen) for several minutes then switch it off and wait for a minute or so and switch it on again for the screen to light up and picture to show. It's like the screen needs 'warming up' time. Can you assist? Many thanks!
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

There is probably a bad capacitor on the power board, I had the same thing happen to my 42LB1DR after 2 years. T.V. would turn on and white power light would blink, no pictue and no sound. If your'e a diy'er, it is not that hard of a fix. Take all the covers off of the back of the tv(UNPLUGGED!!!), then look at all the capacitors on the power board.
These are the capacitors, look to see if any of them appear to have a bump on the top of them. They are supposed to be flat, you can also tell if one of them has gone bad if there is an oily substance on the metal cover that was removed. If one of them is in question, carefully remove the board, and take it to an electronics store to have them sotter ?sp on a new capacitor. It ended up costing me around $40.00 to have this done. Good luck and if you are not comfortable trying this, than take it to a repair shop, but I was quoted around $450 to take the T.V. in. No Thanks

When you boot up your tv for the first time, you get to choose between home and shop-mode.
In your case, he TV is set to "shop-mode".
Then it will go back to factory settings after 5-10 minutes. (so that customers won't mess up the settings all the time)
So change the settings from shop to home, and your problem is fixed!

We have same TV. Your tv is trying to go through your DVD recorder channel. Just press D/A button (top left hand corner of remote TWICE and it will go back to transmitting through TV.

Check the capactors on the power supply. I changed C208 because it was bugled on the top I put a 25 volt in place of the 16 volt. The green light should flash 7 times then picture is present. See http
