The decompressor valve is a complete assembly and not a serviceable component. These valves are readily available and many reputable Husqvarna shops will carry them in stock.
To replace one, use a long tube socket and unscrew it. Replace in the same manner.

Builds up pressure then idle and leak air out is there a shut off that hold air at 180 lbs.

You did not mention a brand or model number, however, most air compressors have a check valve (brass nut) at the tank that retains the air in the tank. If check valve is leaking, air will leak back thru the checkvalve into the pump or the unloader. You must have a two stage pump if you are holding at 180psi. If, however you have a single stage pump (that should be set about 150 or less) you are overloading the system. Good luck

Bostitch compressor

If air continues to leak from the pressure switch after cycle is indication that the check valve is not sealing or the pressure switch diaphragm has failed. Easy fix. Follow the 1/4 inch airline to the tank and remove the line from the brass valve(check valve). If air is leaking at the brass valve, remove it and attempt to clear debris under valve or replace as needed. If no air is leaking from the checkvalve, then most likely diaphragm is leaking. You could replace the diaprhagm or the whole switch. Generic switch is available thru ebay about 18- $20

Have a craftsman 175psi 25 gal 3.5 hp fills up to pressure shuts down then pressure leaks behind what i think is pressure switch

Leak at pressure switch is an indication that the in-tank check valve is leaking.
Follow small hose from pressure switch to the tank (usually brass valve). Remove hose at the brass valve and check for leak there. If leaking replace valve with generic valve from ebay or WWw. grainger.com or use exact part (some valves can be cleaned, as debris can be lodged between seat). Good luck

Sanborn 15 Gal. Air compressor "bleeder-valve" will not shut off when compressor shuts down. I replaced with a entire new unit ( which includes this bleeder valve ) and it does the SAME THING...

Leaking bleeder valve /unloader is caused by faulty check valve. Follow the air discharge hose from the pump head to the brass valve at the tank. The brass valve is the check valve designed to keep pressure in the tank and prevent air from loading the pump when the compressor is trying to start. Remove the discharge air tube at the check valve and test for leak. If leaking replace with generic valve available at www.grainger.com or on ebay. Good holidays

I have an 80 gal Craftsman air compressor who just shut down, the pressure is dropping, it made a smoke smell and it blew my circuit breaker. I tried starting my circuit breaker but it kept flipping off....

Usually related to the in-tank check valve. Follow the discharge hose from the pump to the tank. At the tank the hose attaches to a brass valve (or metal valve). This brass fitting is the check valve. It's purpose is to hold air in the tank and not allow the air to load the compressor when motor is trying to start. Easy to test. Use another compressor to pump air into your tank thru the quick disconnect or remove the safety valve and install hose there. Pump in about 75 psi and looks for leaks with soapy water. Remove air inlet hose from check valve and check for air leaks. If leaking, replace with generic valve available at www.grainger.com or order from sears parts. If no leaks then suspect unloader is not working at the pressure switch. If both the unloader and check valve is ok then test capacitor for reading within 95% of rated valve. Good holidays

No they don't join together. One goes in and the fuel filter is attached to it. The other is the fuel return line, and that is the one that is attached to that plastic part. It is usually a one way valve and nothing else is attached to other end. To get the line in the tank get a small stiff wire, put it through the fuel line hole and other end through filler neck. Wrap the wire around the end of fuel line about 2 to 4 times and pull it through helping it along by pushing on line. I think you see where I am going with this so use your own judgment also. I hope this helps you out a little bit. Regards and good luck.

Compressor pumps up fine but then leaks air just below the relief valve. out of a small factory hole in a brass fittting and goe down till compressor starts again.

When the unloader leaks as you describe indicates that the check valve is leaking. Easy to check the condition of the valve. Follow air discharge line from compressor head to tank. The brass or steel fitting that threads into tank is the checkvalve. Remove all air from tank and remove large inspection cap to reveal the teflon seat. If it is cracked or swollen you will need to replace the valve. Parts available at www.toolpartsdirect.com Good luck

Air is leaking from the small air line under the power relay. the valve in the small is melted.how to repair.how to find parts? /

Air continually leaking from power switch/ unloader indicates that in-tank check valve is not holding pressure. Easy to check, follow discharge hose from pump to tank. Brass valve at thank is the check valve. With air in tank and unit unpluged from outlet, remove hose from valve and check for leak, replace as needed. Parts are available at www.chpower.com Good Luck with your repair.

Air is leaking through high pressure side of IR type 30 T7 compressor and out the intake filter,,what is the cause of this? Bad valve?

Air compressors generally use a check valve at the tank to prevent loading of the compressor at start of cycle. Easy to check. With unit powered off and pressure in tank remove fitting from compressor to tank and test for leak. Check valve is uaually brass or steel and can be removed and sometimes cleaned. If faulty, replace with generic valve available thru WWW.grainger.com. If you find that your airline from pump to tank is full of carbon deposits, you will most likely need to clean airline and decarbon headvalve area. Even is tank checkvalve is leaking, valves at head should hold pressure. Since your pumps leaks thru intake indicates valves are not holding pressure. Good luck with your prepair.
