are you sure that the key is seated properly on the board? This can easily be fixed by popping it off and checking to see if the 1, or 2, plastic like springs are connect to the key and the board.

Hi. Actually when you restore your system to its factory settings it will restore everything on your computer including the original operating system, but if you're saying that you have installed windows 7 on it then try going to ASUS driver support website, just type in their the model of your machine and it will ouput every software and drivers available for laptop and also different versions of operating system, So just choose the correct OS version for your laptop. Hope this Helps

Right after you press the start (power on) button for the notebook, tap the F9 key about once every second (do NOT hold the button down, as this will cause the machine to think there is a problem with the keyboard, and generate a 303 KEYBOARD ERRER) to take you into the system repair subroutine. There should be an option for "Factory Restore", however, you'll may need to dig a little to find it. Once you select the factory restore option and the process begins, DO NOT interrupt the restore process at ANY time!!! (also, be sure the notebook is plugged in to an AC outlet, as battery power may not be sufficient for this task, and the restore process goes fast on AC power anyway.

The Asus EEE units come with a Restore Disc. all you will need to do is plug in an EXTERNAL USB CD/DVD DRIVE, and load the disc on bootup (cold start) it should start running the recovery for you and will destroy all data on the drive. If you dont have your Restore Cd anymore asus did have a few models on the net for download ar you can request a restore cd from ASUS.COM under the contact us page
Hope this helps
