Trying to take front wheel cyclinder apart, but they are stuck

Can not get them apart its like they are froze. I'm afraid of breaking. Any sugguestions on how to get them apart without breaking. Would like to rebuild

If it is like a car and you want the pistons out. Dump out brake fluid and put some type penetrating oil inside for a short time. Use compressed air to blow pistons out. Stay away from the ends of the cylinder so you don't get hit.

Why do brakes go to floor but still have light pressure?


It sounds like you have air in your brake lines. This is usually caused by a very low brake fluid in the master cyclinder.
To fix this problem fill up the master cyclinder with brake fluid and bleed the front wheel brake cyclinders until the air bubbles are removed. Keep the master cyclinder topped up with brake fluid. Then bleed the rear wheel brake cyclinders until the air bubbles are removed. Don't forget to top up the brake fluid in the master cyclinder.

I have changed rear wheel cyclinder and it still leaks from that wheel does the line that bolts to cyclinder have any orings that I may be overlooking?


There are no o rings as this is a flare fitting.Make sure that your rear shoe to drum adjustment is proper, as the wheel cylinder will continue to leak, if the travel is too far. this can be caused by a froze up self adjuster mechanism. Hope this helps. Plese contact with any more questions.

The machine froze as I was using it. The wheel cannot be turned and the needle will not move. It is like the motor froze on it. Can it be reset?


You might try other solutions; however, this works for me:

The needle is bent or stuck.
1. Loosen the needle thumb screw
2. If the needle is stuck then that was the problem, the turn wheel should work ok.
3. The bobbin may be damaged as well.

If this doesn't work, then I'm afraid you will have to "force" the wheel. It is not the motor.

Does the motor make a noise like it is trying to work?

Bleeding breaks


it's best you do all wheels at the same time. start from the farthest wheel from the master cyclinder. after you have bled each wheel cylinder/caliper ... fill the master cylinder again to ensure enough fluid is in it. if you do just the front you are likely to **** air back into the front from the rear brakes (if any air is present).

Rear Wheel Cyclinder


Measure the old rear wheel cyclinder and it should find out if you have 9" or 10" cyclinders or you can take it to the auto parts store and they can match it for you.

you can tell if the break master cyclinder is bad, if you don't have any break action or peddle to the floor, break is sticking, or any other break related symtom, not normal to your daily driving.
