I have a joann sew essentials super stitcher model se 300 sewing machine. I followed the instructions that came with it. But when I tried to stitch, it did not even make a seam. What should I do.? It...

Check that you are installing the needle correctly, that the machine is threaded properly. Use only fresh, good quality thread--no bargain bin or old thread. Be sure to ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the top thread. Check that the bobbin is loaded and threaded correctly. Make sure the feed dogs are up and the stitch length is set to at least #2. If you are still having problems, it could need some adjustment.

Where do I oil the machine? How do you get inside the machine to view the bobbin wider belt?

If you open the case, the warranty is voided. Any oiling beyond that directed in the manual is done at the yearly service. Ditto belt inspection and replacement.

The modern machines like this one have very little maintenance for the user to do compared to the old 1950's straight stitchers I learned on. Keep 'em clean and oil the hook is about it.

Need replacement soles for my Sebago Docksides but local repair shop says a special tool is required that can sew inside the indentations in the soles. Can Sebago suggest a repair place in Manhattan?

Wow, it's things like that that make the industry look bad. To sew the soles on Docksides or Topsiders you need a McKay stitcher. I can't imagine any shoe repair NOT having one. They are a necessity. Call around until you find a shop with a McKay stitcher.

How to wire to 120v and thermostat on a armstrong astro 30 pump

A line voltage thermostat is just like any other type of switch, except that it's controlled by temperature.

Just wire the 120vac to the pump, but interrupt the hot (black) wire with the thermostat.

Let me know if you need more help.
