Question about True GDM-12 Refrigerator Commercial
My true GDM -12 cooler is no longer getting cold. I only hear the fans running, when I use to hear everything. It is also blowing warm air, how do I determine if I need Freon and if the compressor is working
By not hearing anything but the fans I would have to say the compressor is not running. Pull the cover off so you can access the condenser area where the coil and compressor are located. Check the coil and ad make sure it is clean. Then feel the compressor and find out if the compressor is hot. If it is hot and the coil is dirty/dusty I would say it was going off on high head pressure/temperature. Clean the coil and let the unit sit off for a while and then try running it. If it is cool then it may have an issue with the refrigerant or other things like maybe start componenets.

More than likely you need a new compressor. It sounds like it's trying to start and then trips on it's overload or capacitor may be out.

You have not said if the cooler is cooling to the correct temperature or achieving the setpoint. Make sure that the correct thermostat has been supplied. Also that the sensor has been installed in the correct location. If all of the above is correct, then I would have the refrigerant level checked.

SOURCE: i have a true brand
Either the compressor is going bad or the start relay on the compressor is going bad. The relay is under the plastic cap on the compressor it will be a nickle size round disc with one wire hooked to one of the 3 prongs coming out of the compressor. This is what you hear click. But to be honest normally this points to a bad compressor and then its time for a new fridge. Hate to give bad news good luck
