Either you have a bad connection between the camera and the DVR, check both the power wire and the video cable, you may have a bad DVR port, or your camera could be bad?

My Kodak Z1485IS will now not read the photos already on the memory card. What is the problem and how can it be rectified?

I've run into the same problem but I don't remember ever solving it.
I have a few things you can try though.
You could try another card in the camera first. Also try the card in another device making sure both are functional but my guess is it's the camera.
1.Plug the camera into your PC. 2. Go through Windows Explorer
to get the pictures off the camera. (If that doesn't work go to 3.).
3. Take the card out and plug it into what ever you can to get the pictures off the card. 4. Put the card back in and plug the camera into your PC. 5. Go through Windows Explorer to the camera and format the card.
I think I did all this to mine and was able to use the card in other things as well as getting my pictures but wasn't able to use it in the camera (or any other card) again.
These digital cameras are sensitive to bumps, drops and static electricity. Some more than others but I'm no pro, just determined.
Good luck.

Coolpix L110 Flash Issue: At the end of June my L110 flash wouldn't work. This was after a 4 inch slip from my hand to the table, but shouldn't have caused such a big issue. The flash wouldn't...

You will need to know how a flash works. Basically there is a circuit that increases the voltage to insane levels - 2000-5000 volts, store it in a huge capacitor storage, and discharges it over an inert xenon gas tube.

a knock may damage delicate parts, especially the storage and the gas tube.

Have you tried other shops? How about sending directly to Nikon USA? or their fleet of authorised repair shops?

My pictures wont download from my Coolpix P80. Sometimes it works after a few attempts but sometimes it won't detect pictures at all.

The problem with you Nikon Coolpix P80 needs to be narrowed down as it could be down to few issues.

  1. Faulty USB Cable - Can only narrow this down by trying the other solutions below
  2. Faulty USB port on computer - try another port or another computer?
  3. Static build up on the USB port. Switch the computer off AND unplug it from the mains. Leave it like this for 30 minutes to allow any static to disipate.
  4. Corrupt memory card - If you have a card reader you could try and read the card from the reader. DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD IF YOU HAVE DATA ON IT YOU WISH TO RETRIEVE. If required you may need to format the card in a PC and then place it back into the camera and format it in the camera.
Hope the suggestions help.

Canon G9 camera and G7 similar problem... checked out memory cards and they were reformatted. cards work fine in other digital carmeras I own. Can not get either camera to read a memory card

Usually this means there is a problem with the memory card part in the camera that reads the card. When this happens it will usually say either memory card error or card locked, even when the card is fine. Try emailing this site for help with this: All they help with are the Canon Powershot cameras and they're excellent for help with these models. Good luck with it. They'd be the place that could help with this.

Camera stopped working

Try taking the actual lcd screen of and put it back together.. Its 2 screws and you pull it out and then put it back in and re-assemble it. If you need a guide let me know.. IT might work or it might be an internal or software issue!

Camera wont turn on even with new batteries

In order to narrow down the issue, I suggest you the following steps. 1) First of all we have to power drain the Camera. Take out the battries and unplug adaptor, now hold the power on putton ( Click Button) for a minute this will clear the static power on Camera. If this doesn't fix the issue, Than.... 2) As cam is working fine with Ac adaport and batterys are not working you have to check the cam with the new battries. If you store battries for a long time with out using them, they may result in battery drain. If this doesn't work. 3) Then it need a Physical check, where we can track if Power suply from battries are reaching till its destination or not. This is the way to narrow down the issue. Thanks you.
