Question about KitchenAid KFCP22EXMP 22 french door counter depth refrigerator
One month old unit. the central hinged seal on the left door is not fully retracting, and if the right door is closed first or not opened at all, when the left door swings closed, the hinged seal smacks into the right door. Unit is level (+/- 1/64th of an inch) with a Bosch laser level, "split the line" horizontally and vertically. And verified with a Stabila spirit level ( aka "the trusty bubble stick") Contacted KitchenAid and they offered to dispatch a Service Tech, but I declined for now. Just wanted to ask here if there was a known issue/solution before I went exploring with my screwdriver.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Go to this link and you can see all the identical sized models with a right swing door. The hinges are the same so you could easily swap them; http://www.kitchenaid.com/catalog/category.jsp?categoryId=77#85 here's a link to the user manual if you need it; http://www.kitchenaid.com/assets/pdfs/literature/Use%20and%20Care%20Guide%20-%202300253.pdf check page 7 and 8 for how to swap a door. Page 20 gives you contact details for spare parts. Hope this helps :)

The lower hinge on each door
may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this
assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not
seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if
it rises up when opened.
Part 12 on this diagram is your cam. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/getSubComp.pd?modelNumber=KSRB27FHSS02&productCategoryId=0165000&brandId=0593&modelName=SIDE-BY-SIDE-REFRIGERATOR&diagramPageId=00006&componentDescription=REFRIGERATOR%20DOOR&documentId=O2030395&backToLink=Return%20to%20Sub%20Components%20list

Testimonial: "The most helpful and complete response I received. The link to the schematic was a great deal of help. You are a true Pro and I appreciate your help."
Try to re-adjust the appliance so it is level and tips backwards slightly. You'll have gravity on your side to help keep the door closed. You will need help tipping the unit while adjusting the levelers underneath.
Also make sure the appliance is sitting on a solid surface and isn't somehow twisted, which will place stress on the box and possibly cause the issue you describe.
Make sure the unit is not overloaded and that the gasket surfaces are clean. After only 5 years, the magnetic gaskets should not be worn out.

I had the exact same problem with my Kitchen Aid French door refrigerator...... I had my appliance repair man come twice and we finally found the problem........... the LOWER DOOR HINGE was broken on the inside. you can only tell when you go to remove the hinge from the inside of the door. he replaced it and it works beautifully. I read how many people have had this problem and have replaced the gasket on the door but it didn't solve the problem. that's because it's not the gasket it's the lower hinge in the actual door. good luck
