Just use a soft human brush if you can't find a soft brush for dogs.

When is the last time you cleaned and oiled your blades? Or if you have been using them for a long time they may need to be sharpened? Blades experience wear and tear and require regular maintenance.

Shark SV736R motorized brush won't rotate

The 2 metal pins of the motorized brush are not in contact with the vacuum cleaner. or the Motorized brush is clogged up. You have mentioned that it is cleaned, but still give a thorough inspection. For the metal pins, firmly insert the motorized brush into the air-intake nozzle. This will connect the motorized nozzle to the unit power supply.

No power to bite

Needs new brushes. http://www.metabo.com/Spare-parts-lists-handheld.16913.0.html

When the brushes wear down they are held back by there power wires. There should be a set of small holes in the brush holders.Push new brushes to the bottom and put a wire through the small holes to hold brushes in place during reassembly.Pull out the wires and the new brushes will seat. Brushes don't cost all that much.

Electric start doesn't work.

Hi rschumacher, have you checked the plug, wire and switch? Those are the first things to inspect. If that is alright, the starter brushes could be burned out or sticking because of dirt in the brush guides. If the brushes need replacing, the starter has to be taken apart. I hope it is just a wiring or switch problem. All the best and good luck. Denis.

How do I clean my grill?

Use a grill brush, if you have porcelain grates then use brush for porcelain. If you have cast the wire brush one works great. Don't use wire brush on porcelain it will scrap it off.

I need motor brushes for model# H1506FWH Husky 1.5 HP pancake compressor.Where do I get in the Mobile, AL area?

First you have to understand something important about motor brushes. That is the only difference between all motor brushes is their size (brush diameter and contact wire length). This includes fan motor brushes, water pump motors, power tool motors even automobile alternator brushes.
You can also find brushes where you might not think to look.

If you can get even close to the same size as the old set you can file the new ones down to fit. I've done it time and time again.

Your best bet is automotive electronic stores. However you might find them at local auto parts stores, hardware stores like Home Depot (look in the section where they have all the small parts bins). You might also try Tractor Supply. I know they are in Alabama but not sure if there is one close to you.

Remember you can modify the length of the wire also. If the old set has a small contact point on the end of the wire just remove it and solder it to the new brush wire.

I hope this helps you out.

Need to replace motor brushes on Kenmore canister vacuum 116.25914503 - Getting lots of arcing at brush ends. Need tear-down steps to get at the brushes.

If you can see the arcing you are likely in the motor housing. The brushes are specific to the motor depending on RPM. Most brushes and motors in Sears units are supplied by AMTEK Lamb. The color on the plastic housing and stamped model # on motor will help identify the correct carbon brush, however new brushes will NOT always solve your problem if the motor is arcing.
If the armature is worn like an apple core or if the lines between segments on the copper commutator are gaping and not parallel you will need a new or rebuilt motor.
If brushes are properly removed there is a tiny flag terminal which will slide out of most brush housings where the wire meets the brush itself. New brushes are best installed after dressing the armature surface with a fine carbarundum seating stone or very fine wet dry sandpaper and then the motor is run in at half speed at reduced voltage.
|There is usually a hold down clamp over each brush to seat it and a lock tab underneath to align the new brush.

I get no power 110 or 220v from my generac 5000

The best thing to do at this point is to flash the fields. You do this by applying battery voltage (12Vdc) or 6Vdc to the wire that come from the brushes. The brush closest to the bearing is Positive and the brush near the rotor winding is Negative. While the generator is running apply battery voltage to the correct spots on the brushes. You should see an increase in voltage. If you do see an increase, then you will need that little board with diodes, that is your voltage regulator. Use rubber gloves when performing this procedure and stay away from rotating parts.

Carbon motor brush source?

unfortunatly the only way you could purchase the carbon brushes is from a vacuum parts dealer directly. the brushes will most likely end up costing you close toth price of a new motor anyway. sometimes its best to just get a new motor as the newer designes rotate teh brush much faster for better cleaning.

Small brush

Same problem, no solution. Sorry. Brush with sticky backside came out with paper after running a copy of a document (more grinding and noise than usual). POS HP. I used an Epson color inkjet for 12 years with no problems other than eventual aging and jet clogging/print degradation. Bought the HP, thinking what the heck... good for everyone else. Right? Wrong. Have had it about six months, VERY LIGHT printing, and it loses some random brush when I decide to put it into copy mode? Brush is like a miniature straight broom, adhesive on the back. Black or grey on the ends due to whatever its job has been. Now I fully expect my prints to be a mess in about three months or so, thereby making the printer worthless... a paperweight at best, as the brush is no longer there to do whatever it was supposed to do. If it goes to HIAB then HP customer satisfaction and Better Business Bureau will hear from me.
