Question about Itronix GoBook IX250 Notebook
Hi, I have two questions about an Itronix ix250 GObook.
First, I see settings in the BIOS for the keyboard back light, yet my keyboard never lights up, just glows in the dark (and i know you cant turn off something that glows in the dark). Was it just an optional feature, or is my keyboard back light burnt out? If so, can it be replaced/installed?
Second, there is a little rubber cover over a small hole on the bottom middle of the screen, and a little light (i think) that never turns on thats just above the HDD access light. Was there an optional IrDA receiver that went there? If so, could I install one?
I think the button you mentioned under the display is a rubber plug, there is nothing behind it! and the small LED under that has never illuminated on mine and I have used it for a year now. Maybe an optional indicator of some sort. My keyboard glows in the dark too, and this is about the slowest 600 Mhz machine I have ever worked on.....I had an overclocked Celeron 300/450 that was way faster than this tank. Work PC.

If your keyboard glows in the dark,it never lit up.there are two types of keyboards one glows and one actually lights up with a blue back light as an option on the ix250(the bios has the option built in,if it has the keyboard that lights up or not).they were selling on ebay for about 50 bucks but you need an inverter board to go with it that screws on under the hard drive plate(mine came with a new plate) and a small power cable that hooks to the motherboard and a lot of patience if yours dont have the power cable already installed because you have to tear the whole thing apart to get to the bare motherboard to plug it in.I dont know about the infrared, but i do know they have a driver for it on their website so you may be right on that plug being the place it went.

No once a light burs out in a key board, then you can get a new key board, or ignore it.
yes Irda can be installed on your go book.
