You need software. Try the camera company first. If that doesn't work, type in your browser panasonic dcv80 and see if it's already out there! now look at those pics.

Were is the usb and FireWire port loacated on the Panasonic AG Dvc80?

The DV port is the Firewire (IEEE1394 4-wire) port. The port is on the right hand side (starting in the operator's position) at the top and forward-most point (towards the camera lens) of all the input and output jacks. (It's next to the S-video port and above the composite video and audio ports.) As far as I know, there is no USB port on the AV-DVC80.

The manual is available from Panasonic: http://service.us.panasonic.com/operman/findmanual.aspx?model=AGDVC80 . The direct link is http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/AGDVC80.PDF . The DV port is shown as point 41 on the diagram on page 14.

I hope this helps.

Panasonic NV GS25GN How to download from camera's tape to a new iMac OSX? Do I need special drivers? My iMac has a firewire 800 connector (not a 400).

I expect that Firewire 800 is backwards compatible with 400. You just need a cable with the appropriate connectors on each end. The Mac surely comes with the drivers already installed.

How it works with my mini-DV recorder (on a PC) is that when I fire up the video editing software, it sees the camera as a source and can control it from the computer to rewind and download. The book says use the mains power adapter to make sure the camera stays powered.

Converting Video to DVD Panasonic NV-GS15

You do not need to buy a capture card, you should hve got a utility on a CD called "Motion Studio" through which you can download the movies from the camera either using the USB cable or IEEE fire wire cable.
You probably haver to take the battery out to get to the USB connector and use the power adaptor to power the camera. If you have a user manual it should tell you how. If not you may find it on line. good luck I have a similar camera.

Need assistance transferring video to imac

The Panasonic PV-GS12 will transfer video in video record mode and video playback mode using the DV connection (IEEE) Firewire port. PC Mode is restricted to memory card access via USB. If after connecting it in this manner if it does not work try this. With everything connected via firewire and iMovie running. switch the camera to PC mode and the import window should pop up. You may get a comunications error and if you do then switch to playback mode. The import window should stay open and you can control your camera with the iMovie controls.

Can't download

USB bad. If the footage is on hard drive rather than tape just browse the camera or import rather than capture. If difficulties seeing the hd maybe use a card reader known to work with mac. If it is on DV tape you need to connect to a dv / hdv out to fire wire, if this camera doesn't have one you will need to borrow some one's who does.

Cannot find Driver to dump video onto hard drive

do u have a laptop with firewire port 1394 and port on the Camera it is there ,u can easily connect thru fire wire link with 4 pin cable cable buy a cheap one from store like 10 $ there is no need for buying a branded one bcoz quality is not compromised in any way this is digital signal, if u dont have the laptop with firewire then u have to spend more on PCMCIA FIREWIRE CARD for it or PCI firewire card for desktop which ever u like and then u also need a software to capture the video which i think u have in ur pc , no need for drivers just connect and it will be auto available in the capture devices list of the capturing software, just go and do it

bcoz ur camera is MINIDV TAPE there is no other option to get ut footage on PC for editing

pls rate me if u find me fixya problem

Importing Video to a Mac

XL2s are notorious for issues in interacting with final cut.
Simply put, sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. But - there's a way around it.
Change the capture settings preset to 'non-controllable device'. Use the shuttle controls on top the handle of the XL2 to play back the footage as you wish. when you want to capture, click 'Capture Now' - It should do the trick.
