Finger Print Reader is not Working on my Acer Aspire 5738 laptop with Windows XP installed on it.

- thanks for reply. But I have already installed all drivers that comes with laptop. As the laptop was preinstalled with Linux. I have formatted the HDD and installed Windows XP (SP-2) over it. Still finger print did'nt work. Also from where I can get Acer's pre-installed softwares (i.e. Acer Arcade? Deluxe featuring Cinema, Album, Music, Acer HomeMedia; Acer eRecovery Manager Acer PowerSmart Manager Acer Bio-Protection Acer Crystal Eye Acer GridVista? you need to install all the software of this Finger Print Reader and update all the drivers or install the driver.good luck

ACER 5738 is an 64-bit machine. Acer website had only posted the 64 bit driver for the finger print reader. And i think the xp sp2 you have installed is 32-bit. 64-bit driver is not compatible with 32-bit OS . so try to install vista home 64-bit , then try to install the driver. even the xp 64-bit is not working properly with that driver, so try vista 64-bit. NOW YOU ARE IN GREAT TROUBLE , SINCE YOU HAVE TAKE ACER LAPTOP ha ha ha .. see what happens in future.... thanks & regards ... pushpak nayak
