Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Toshiba tv model #50vf820. It was recently transported to a different location. At that time, it had been working fine. Since at the new location, the fan is loud when the set is turned on. O

How expensive are the fans for those televisions?

After unplugging the set, I took the back off as suggested. Nothing was in the way of the fan. However, now the red light next to the word "lamp" stays on steady.

My Toshiba TV, Model 57HX81 quit responding to any remote control. How do we repair that or how much will it cost to have it serviced?

Does the rest of the TV work fine? If so, the problem is likely with the remote control. Have you replaced the batteries and made sure they are installed correctly? Did batteries recently leak in the remote to where the new batteries may not be making good contact with the metal springs? Has the remote been dropped a lot? If so, a solder joint may be broken for the IR transmitter.

If you have a universal remote that can be programmed to the TV model, that should make it easy to confirm if the issue is the remote or the TV.

you can fix the dimmed look to the tv by purchasing a new ballast for the DLP bulb.

The spots are non-repairable as they are in the light engine assembly and those are nearly $500-$600 and very labor intense to install.

Hope this helps. Click the hyperlink above to buy the ballast.

Problem with Toshiba DLP Projection TV Model #52HM84

It is possible the lamps may be defective or that they may be the wrong replacement for this model, as it may have a different wattage setup with the ballast. If you want to try to order the TB25 lamp from a different vendor, you can order the original Toshiba replacement lamp for this model (52HM84) from a major Toshiba parts distributor at the link below:

If you can use the universal remote to turn the set on and off then your TV is fine. Universal remotes won't control all aspects of the TV.
