Question about Washing Machines
I have a Fisher Paykel GWL15 which stopped working mid cycle (still has water and will not drain). It is beeping continuously and will not enter diagnostic mode by following instructions on the service summary sheet. LEDs # 3, 4, and 8 are lit which would seem to indicate error code #49 (faulty hot/cold water valve). I replaced hot/cold water valve with a new part I had on hand, but cannot get the washer to work - it still beeps continuously. What could be going on here? Faulty control panel? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

00110001 CODE 49 COLD VALVE FAULTY
1 FILTER IN HOSE AT TAP END CLOGGED OR FILTER IN VAVE AT MACHINE END OF HOSE CHECK THESE FIRST .
2 SOLENOID OPEN CIRCUIT OR BECOMING OPEN CIRCUIT WHEN HOT.
3 CONTROLLER NOT SUPPLYING VOLTAGE TO SOLENOID.
TRY THINGS IN THIS ORDER AND GOOD LUCK

Fault 49 usually points to the cold inlet valve, either open circuit or not connected correctly. I often come across machines that the motor controller is the problem too.

you can swap the hot and cold valves over and see if this fixes the problem as it sound like your cold valve is faulty but not the hot valve.

the code error (49) is telling you that the inlet valve is not working make sure the hoses are not blocked. if you have fitted the valve and is still not working then i would try using the unit on cold if it still does not work then there must be a short in the p.c.b control board.
hope this helps a little more

There are several possible causes. To track down the problem, first shut off the water supply valve feeding the washing machine, then remove the hot water hose from the machine and direct it into a bucket. Turn on the water supply valve. Does water come out? Is it hot? If you only get cold water, then you need to insulate the pipe between the water heater and the supply valve so you get hot water faster (assuming the water heater is working!)
If you have a supply of hot water, then check the inlet screen where the hose connects to the washing machine. Perhaps it is clogged with lime or sediment. If it is clear, then you have a fault in the hot water solenoid valve or water temperature selector switch.
