Ilo flat screen TV problem

the remote started acting up by hesitating when turning off the TV and not raising or lower the volume or responding to video mode, however when I tried replacing the batteries and it still did not work, I resorted to using the TV buttons and they too will not work. I can't even turn on or off my TV using the TV buttons. The only function that I have on the remote that works is the on and off botton with a long delay. I'm tempted to think that it is my TV and not my remote that is not responding. Is their a re-set botton or some trouble shooting series that I can try?
