Hi,
I am not a dryer technician but I can troubleshoot and fix almost anything. Open the top and check to make sure the belt around the drum is still there. It should be around the drum near the back. Next remove the back of the dryer and see if the belt is on the tension pulley. If that looks good push the tension pulley to release tension and remove the belt. Try turning the drum by hand to make sure the wheels that it sits on are not bound up. If all that looks good then I would say the motor is bad. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Dryer making loud vibrating noise

In all likelihood, the belt that runs the tumbler is loose, causing the tumbler to rotate off center. While it takes a few minutes, the front of the dryer should be removable and you can take the tumbler out and replace the belt.

Maytag bravo washer model number MTW6700tQ0 wont finish spinning please help!!

Hello c bellone,
If you rotate the clutch pulley by hand CW the tumblers should rotate in the wash basket. If you rotate the clutch pulley CCW the tumblers will rotate until the clutch spring comes under tension then the wash basket will begin to turn CCW and the tumblers will stop rotating because the transmission rotates with the wash basket. Do you have this action?
The clutch has been an issue for many are you taking dc or UC errors to the display? This clutch incorporates a Drawn Cup Roller clutch bearing (one way clutch bearing) designed to rotate freely CW and lock up CCW to rotate the spinner shaft in spin cycle rotating the wash basket/transmission CCW.You are halfway thru the clutch removal process, I would drop the clutch out and inspect the roller clutches, clean them up with WD-40 and some light bearing grease. If they are rusted up beyond clean up and or the clutch spring is broken as in this post you will have to replace the clutch. You will know what you are up against once the clutch is out and opened up for inspection.
Here is the process I use for clutch removal;
Access and remove the Clutch for maintenance
Disconnect 120VAC power cord.

How do you remove ignition lock cylinder on a 1973 dodge charger

These older vehicles had a tumbler release pin which needs to be pushed in while key tumbler assy is turned counterclockwise. Look for a small hole in the column, usualy located undernieth where the lock assy is. Insert something small such as a paper clip into the homle after turning the tumbler to the acsesorry position( backwards). push in the paper clip and rotate the lock assy backwards at the same time to release the tumber from the lock assy. and pull the tumbler out.

Removal & Installation

Before servicing any vehicle, please be sure to read the precautions section, which deals with personal safety, prevention of component damage, and important points to take into consideration when servicing a motor vehicle.

WARNING Vehicle must be in PARK prior to ignition cylinder removal.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disable the SIR (air bag) system, as outlined in the Chassis Electrical Section.
  3. Remove the steering column trim covers.
  4. Insert key into the ignition and rotate to the RUN position. Then rotate ignition cylinder back to ACC position.
  5. Depress the locking button through hole on side of ignition module assembly with a thin pick-type tool then slide the lock cylinder from the ignition housing.

Fig. Depress the locking button through hole on side of ignition module assembly

To install:

NOTE If you are installing a new lock cylinder, recoding will be required and a J 41340, Lock Cylinder Holding Fixture and Staking Tool will be required.

NOTE Ignition lock cylinder reads key cut position 1 through 9.
  1. Insert the appropriate tumbler (3) according to the key code into the corresponding tumbler ward.

    0996b43f8020585e.jpg enlarge_icon.gifenlarge_tooltip.gif

Fig. Insert the appropriate tumbler according to the key code into the corresponding tumbler ward

  2. The tumblers will not immediately seat into position because the sidebar has been pre-assembled. The tumblers will have to be pushed past the sidebar with a small flat screwdriver or pocket knife.
  3. The tumbler springs (2) should then be inserted into the spring wells in the cylinder (4) where they will sit on top of the tumblers.
  4. The seal plate (1) will be installed and crimped.
  5. Insert the seal plate locator legs into the receptacle slots in the cylinder--seal plate will seat into position only when the two locator legs have been properly inserted into the receptacles on the cylinder.
  6. While holding the seal plate in position with the thumb, insert the key into the cylinder and watch for the side bar to drop. If the side bar does not drop, the lock is tumbled wrong and you need to start over.
  7. Ensure that the side bar does not drop on an angle. The side bar must be completely flush to the cylinder diameter.
  8. Stake (1) the two metal areas of the cylinder (2) directly over the seal plate legs with a hammer and punch or chisel.

Fig. Stake (1) the two metal areas of the cylinder (2) directly over the seal plate legs with a hammer and punch or chisel.

  9. Repeat this stake on the areas of the cylinder directly opposite of the first to stakes.
NOTE Actuator blade within the ignition module must be in ACC position to install the lock cylinder assembly. If rotated, reposition the actuator blade to the ACC position using needle nose pliers.
  10. Insert key into ignition lock cylinder and install the cylinder into the lock housing.
  11. Rotate the lock cylinder in the housing. Verify proper rotation.
  12. Install the steering column trim covers.
  13. Enable the SIR system.
  14. Connect the negative battery cable.

Maytag FAV6800AW have replaced clutch and cleaned under tumblers. Machine will not balance. When rotating tumblers entrie drum rotates (during cycle). I removed drum and no leakage out bottom. Does this...

Let?s see if I understand. Are you in a wash/agitate cycle when this happens? If so is the wash basket rotating Clock Wise with the tumblers rotating (washer top raised for observation)? With A Spin Only cycle selected and some clothes in the wash basket. Raise the washer top from the base and observe the wash basket rotation. The wash basket will rotate CCW the spin direction. Do the tumblers rotate while the wash basket is rotating CCW? If so the load will go off balance. What series is your machine it will be the first two digits of your Serial Number i.e. 10 through 17. Was the original clutch replaced because of severe rust of the One-Way Roller clutches/bearing in the clutch Pulley assembly? Do you have the original clutch pulley assembly? Did your machine use the upper the One-Way Roller clutches/bearing ring? Your series number will help me but if you can confirm. I?ll try to help?.Rich

Will not spin, therefore will not drain

Hey Joe,
Let’s check to see if the wash basket will rotate CCW in Spin Only Cycle with no clothes in the wash basket
1. Open the lid and rotate the wash basket by hand Counter Clockwise, CCW. The wash basket should rotate freely with no restriction. The wash basket will not rotate Clockwise, CW by hand.

2. Raise the top of the machine. Insert a flat blade putty knife approximately 2.5” from the left and right sides of the washer top, depress the spring tabs securing machine top to the washer base. Raise the top of the machine to observe the wash basket and tumbler action described in step 3. (See page 33 of the Service Manual for putty knife insertion point).

3. With the top raised start a Spin Only cycle with no clothes in the wash basket, observe the wash basket it should begin to rotate CCW does it?. Watch the tumblers, they should not rotate in spin cycle (maybe ½ turn at the start of spin cycle and that’s all). If the tumblers rotate while the wash basket is rotating you have a clutch malfunction. If the basket does spin CCW and the tumblers are rotating then you have a broken clutch spring. Let do those checks and observations and see what the next troubleshooting steps will be. Rich

Grinding noise from under tumbler

One of the retaining rings on the motor clamp/drum bearing assembly had probably broken, the machine must be taken apart to access to the motor/bearing assembly and fix the part.
The job should be done by a technician.

Using the machine in this condition can cause more damage to motor/ drum bearings.

Here is the diagram.

here you can buy the parts.

I have lost my instructions to unlock this TARGUS PA400C DEFCON 1 AUDIBLE NOTEBOOK ALARM (PA400C) Do you know where I can find what the default code is?

this may help

Due to the nature of security devices, there is no "magic unlock" code for the Defcon device. To recover a lost combination:

·Set the tumblers to the last known combination.

·While applying pressure to the red release button, rotate the tumblers up one digit and then down one digit on each of the individual tumblers.

·For Example: If your last know combination was 565

1.Set the tumblers to 565

2.Hold the red release button in and rotate the 1st tumbler to 6 so that the combination is now set to 665 (If this is the set combination the red release button will move in)

3.Hold the red release button in and rotate the 1st tumbler to 4 so that the combination is now set to 465

4.If not found move onto the 2nd tumbler and repeat step 1-3

5.If not found move onto the 3rd tumbler and repeat step 1-3
