Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Hello, 1. Our AEG Lavamat Carat stopped working from one moment to the other. 2. When I program the machine, the digital display will show the usual info (but NO error code). 3. Once having pressed the starting button, the cover locks up properly and the pump is starting its routine three seconds or so expulsion. 4. After that the clock will count down, but nothing is happening. 5. The machine is not turning/spinning and no water is being poured in. 6. I tried the error code procedure, but - although many codes appear during the turning of the program-button, no particular code is showing up in its final position (as has been promised by some advice-paper). 7. I also removed the side panels of the machine and opened up the above part of the print and I opened the ENV box below-rear in the machine. 8. I have not noticed anything unusual nor is there a flavor of burned plastic. 9. As far as I can judge, all the connections in the AEG are being well placed. 10. So what in your opinion should I do to solve the problem. kind regards

I guess your machine has a serious problem with the purge unit.
Its indicated thru error 39. (the other ones are quite normal: A! menas Cover open (when replacing carts) and the 8x are related to paper feeder (running without paper/paper jam))
Have a look on the encoder disc which is positioned on one of the big white gear wheels on left hand side. Is it stained or broken/scratched? Do you hear scratching noises when machine is powered up?
Anyway its worth a look. But it could be that the print head has dryed out/clogged though it wasnt cleaned for a while.
If you cant get the error clear the only way to fix the machine is to replace the whole print unit including ph and cart holder (incl. tubes). This is quite simple to do because you can simply unplug the connectors on the main circuit (left hand side red/black cable), loose one screw which is within the metal (position near power inlet, can be seen from above), unfasten the cart holder connector to main board. Unfasten the two white flat cable of the ph.
The whole spare part can be used from a dcp 110c/dcp 115c which you can buy as a 2.hand one at eBay. HAve a look for a dcp with broken scanner glass ;-)

This error means waste ink counter is full.
1. Start with printer OFF
2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
3. Release RESUME
4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER
5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving.
6. Press resume

You will need to change the carbon brushes in the motor. Tip machine 45 deg backwards you might need someone to hold for you and look at motor underneath you will see 2 black carbon brushes remove these and replace if worn then retry machine also make sure the wires to the motor are ok.
