SOURCE: Steam Vac Ultra five rotating brushes won't ****

ITS THE DUCT PIECE ON THE FRONT OF THE DIRTY WATER TANK (DWT). ITS NOT LINED UP.
1. TAKE LID OFF OF DWT
2. SLIDE THE LITTLE SQUARE PIECE (5'X5'X1) (THE DUCT) ON THE FRONT OF THE DWT AS FAR UP AS POSSIBLE AND IF IT BENDS FORWARD FROM THE TOP, DO THAT TOO (SOME MODELS OPEN LIKE A DOOR TOP DOWN, OTHERS JUST SLIDE UP AND OUT COMPLETELY)
3. SLIDE THAT DUCT BACK DOWN AS FAR DOWN AND BACK AS IT WILL GO.
4. PUT THE LID BACK ON BY HINGING THE FRONT LATCHES ON AND THEN SNAPPING THE BACK SIDE DOWN.
5. CHECK TO SEE IF THAT DUCT PIECE ON THE FRONT IS LOOSE BY PUSHING ON IT AND SEEING IF IT MOVES UP AND DOWN.
IF IT IS, THE LID ISNT COMPLETELY ON, GO BACK TO STEP 4.
IF THE DUCT IS SNUG, CONGRATS YOU SHOULD HAVE JUST MADE YOUR STEAM VAC **** UP THE WATER AGAIN.

Mu dyson dc 50 has no suction, the brushs spin good but no suction even after the main body part.ports are all clear

Are you sure the main vacuum motor is running ? There are 2 motors. A vacuum motor and a brushroll motor. If the brush is turning but the vac motor isn't running it would not pick up anything. Could be a bad switch or a bad vac motor. Take it to your local vac shop for assessment.

Miele 228 power brush stopped working

Does the motor on the Head Run but the Brush does not turn... change the Belt, the brush head is operated by a rubber belt this is so it has no direct drive so if you suck up something then you ruin a belt and not the motor. Besides you should change the belt as per MFG directions. I change ours at Least 2 times a year and if you do.. say Pull in a Rug corner and it smells like Burnt Rubber? ... you just decreased your life of the Belt.... you'd be surprised on how well a New Belt helps your Vac pick up things. Change the bag often too, do not wait till it can pickup no more. The bag is Not meant to be FULL to be changed, besides it keeps Mites in the trash where they belong and not a breading ground in your closet... If you have a bag-less clean and rinse (All Filters Every Vac has a Filter even the Bag-Less ones) and let dry after a day of vacuuming follow MFG directions, Hope this helps.

Bissel easy vac roller won't work

remove brush roll and clean any string, hair, or whatever from it. especially around the ends. you can also unscrew the ends and check for debris there also. when you put ends back on use a little wd40 to lube up the bearings. if that doesn't work replace brush and won't hurt to change belt

The brush wont rotate on my windtunnel vac but it still has suction. Could this be a broken belt?

Yep - that's usually the culprit if the brush stops turning. However, pull off the skid plate (bottom panel) and make sure you haven't picked up any string or some other obstruction that's wrapped itself around the brush & stopped it from turning. Things like hair/string don't always end up in the bag/bin sometimes if they're long enough they just wrap themselves around the brush.

Beater brush is good, vacuum running no suction

this sounds like your vacs dust passage from the rotary brush to bag is blocked ? you can diy this if you turn vac over to show the brush and covering cover you will see cover is held by some screw/bolts ? remove these and cover then the brush assy is slotted in place either side on bush/bearings and the drive belt is around the brush memorise how it fits! then gently/carefully lift brush out the belt will create spring action once brush removed you will see where the dust travels thro an arpeture on the belt side of vac this usually is where blockage is clear it out and any other within the area of brush then reassemble and check vac

IT WILL NOT START - IT TRIES BUT DOES NOT TURN ON.

Unplug the vac and spin the acorn nut on the separator in the water reservoir. If it spins freely and this vac has run for a few years you may need a fresh set of motor brushes. Do not attempt to run the vac if the motor hums or makes a burning smell. Worn brushes are normal and can often be replaced in an older Rainbow/ Rexair

Motor shaft wont turn on EL2050

Have you tried running the brush motor without a belt on it? Does it not spin without the belt? If so, you may have worn motor brushes (not too expensive parts, but make sure you order both brushes, or make sure they are sold as a set). If your motor is in good condition (you can check the brush motor by hooking it up to a momentary power source NEVER apply constant power to a motor that is not mounted to either the machine or something to keep it from running away) There is sometimes a switch down towards the brush head assembly that could be bad.
