Question about Evesham Computers & Internet

1 Answer

My Evesham want connect with my TV

I just have a question, if you could help me. I have a desktop at home but it dosnt seem to work with my tv or any of the moniters in the house. However on the odd occasion it will work. It checked the cable with my laptop works with that and the moniters and tv are working fine with my laptop. I have the feeling that the port on the desktop might be loss, but dosnt feel loss and no wires inside look out of place. If it is the port how would I repair it or is there another way I can connect my tv with desktop.

i dont have a manual as its second hand also i dont know what a PCI or AGP is, what sort of card are you on about. and if the video adapter is the cable that connects the screen and desktop i know that works. there is a similar port which is 15 pin but one port has 15 holes for the pins and the other has 15 pins.

Most modern desktops have more than one video port and not all are active all the time. Try using the other ports. If that doesn't work you might have a bad video controller. You can buy a replacement video adapter which will plug into one of your PCI or AGP ports. Make sure you know without a doubt what ports your have free before buying a card there are a lot of different ports. The manual is your best bet for knowing for certain what types of ports you have.

if you get no screen on startup on your VGA you have a bad adapter unless your bios offers the ability to turn it off (but you would have had to have done that manually)

the video adapter is a group of electronic components that produce video signals from raw data. sounds like you'll need a new one. what is the manufacturer and model number of your pc? if it's generic youll need to open it up and find the manufacturer and model of your motherboard (the big flat board that everything plugs into)

  • Larry Symms Mar 26, 2014

any brand will do. you could also try a usb video adapter

  • william taylor
    william taylor Mar 26, 2014

"manufacturer and model number" i have no idea where to find it as its second hand and i have no manual. its not the adapter as that work in the laptop and with other screens. is the video card the same as the graphics card. Also where can i buy these components

  • Larry Symms Mar 27, 2014

the adapter is not the cable. it's a group of components that convert data to video

  • Larry Symms Mar 27, 2014

the manufacturer (e.g. Dell, HP, Compaq, etc) and model number should be on a the outside of the computer. if not you'll need to open it up and look for a model number on the motherboard.

  • Larry Symms Mar 27, 2014

if you are unable or unwilling to do that than biy a usb video adapterhttps://www.google.com/search?q=usb+vide...

Iv opened up the desk top and where the VGA cable plugs into looks like the port goes straight into the mother board, the part have this code on (EA=0001CFCEA68).where will i find the motherboard number/modle.

  • Larry Symms Mar 30, 2014

don't bother replacing the motherboard, just get another video adapter. If you're going to replace the motherboard, just replace the whole desktop.

  • Larry Symms Mar 30, 2014

the link above is NOT a video adapter, it's just a KVM (Keboard, Video, Mouse) switch for using one keboard monitor and mouse with 2 PCs. you want a USB video adapter like this:

  • william taylor

I've used a number of search engines to find it however none seem to find it.

  • Larry Symms Mar 31, 2014

found the specs in Newegg. you can use any pci, pci express x16, or pci express x1 video card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

thanks i also have a DVI port that has 9 point to it. do you know the DVI type (DVI-I,DVI-A) e.c.t. I and also wanting to get a DVI to VGA converter as well, however i don't have appropriate name.

  • Larry Symms Apr 01, 2014

there's no dvi port on that motherboard. so you must be speaking of another computer or a PCI adapter. DVI to VGA adapters are pretty standard. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

thank another problem has occured, i have gone and got a PCI Express x16 video card and fitted it in place. However the power keeps cutting out. I used pc world to get the cards and in the web site i put PCI Express x16 video card and this is the mode it came up with EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 210 PCI-E Graphics Card I have a felling that the card is the wrong one could i be correct and is my desktop in shock.

  • Larry Symms Apr 01, 2014

your power supply might not be able to put out enough watts to run what you had along with the new card. My recommendation at this point is to return the card and get a new PC.

  • william taylor
    william taylor Apr 01, 2014

what if i was to replace the power source, would it have to be a particular one. I only ask because i can't afford to buy a new desktop.

  • william taylor
    william taylor Apr 01, 2014

on the GeForce site it say the PCI-E 2.0 bus support. is the 2.0 the type or somthing else, if so them PC World has put wrong information on there site.

  • william taylor
    william taylor Apr 01, 2014

newegg says its a PCI Express 2.0 x16.

  • Larry Symms Apr 01, 2014

you could try a new power supply but if it's something else (like the motherboard) you're not going to fix the problem. This should fit in your case and have the same molex connectors to the motherboard:http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/components...

  • Larry Symms Apr 01, 2014

if you get a new PSU and that still has problems you might be able to swap the motherboard. This should work with all of the components:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

  • Larry Symms Apr 01, 2014

all this stuff adds up. You could probably upgrade your motherboard and memory for under $100USD. For example:http://prntscr.com/364q3c but if it were me I'd do at least 4gb of memory.

  • william taylor
    william taylor Apr 01, 2014

before the power cuts out the screen is still saying no signal. am i right in thinking that its the motherboard all along. and that I didn't need to get a PCI Card.

  • william taylor
    william taylor Apr 01, 2014

it was a laptop memory in that example. which ones you suggest for the components i already have.

  • william taylor
    william taylor Apr 01, 2014

also i need the motherboard to run on xp other wise ill have to get a new windows as well

  • Larry Symms Apr 01, 2014

no video drivers for xp. It'll work but not well. You could switch to ubuntu. Or buy the motherboard I listed first and you should be able reuse all of your existing hardware (hard drives, optical drives, memory, case, power supply, etc)

SOURCE: Ethernet port does not work in computer.

Here are some things to check.

  1. In the system setup, ensure that the network adapter is enabled.
  2. Check device manager and see if the driver is properly installed.
  3. If the integrated NIC doesn't work, you can disable it in the BIOS and install a PCI NIC (Less than $20) and the system will work that way.

Use an HDMI cable, 1,366x768 resolution. You should be able to select mirror (duplicate the laptop screen) or extend (act as a second desktop).

Need help finding part for Evesham desktop that want connect to my tv. i have found my motherboard model which is foxconn-945g7ma, however when i search for it on the internet i find two types Foxconn

You would only be able to connect that to your TV if your TV has a VGA connector, (also called D-Sub.)

There is NO HDMI or DVI connector on any 'flavor' of that model Motherboard.

Why doesnt my hdmi cable work from my ps3 to my evesham hd ready tv

Does anything else work on your TV through HDMI?
If not, your TV needs a new main board.
If so, does your PS3 work on any other set that has HDMI?
If not, you PS3 is bad.
If it does work, then it is a hand shaking issue between the two products that unless Sony has a firmware upgrade for, the two will not be compatible.
