Configure the VM to allow it to access/boot from the "virtual" disk-drive.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

install virtual box, a free virtual computer from oracle. It reserves disk space and runs a separate operating system, in a window on your desktop. Install virtual box, install windowsXP, install your software.
Hope that helps.

Sony Vaio laptop with Windows 7 and xp install?

You can download the Microsoft virtual machine or another VM system.
Like this:
http://www.oracle.com/us/technologies/virtualization/oraclevm/index.html?sckw=srch:virtual-machine&SC=srch:virtual-machine
After install make a virtual hard drive on your VM machine of at least10 gig. Then add your DVD/CD rom drive to the VM and put yourinstall CD/DVD in the drive. Set VM machine to boot from CD.Install on VM hard drive from within the VM machine, Type in KEY code,Bam! you now have a win xp VM!(Note: Games and stuff may not work in the VM as they do not use your video card but a virtual video card that is pretty limited!)

Just got new computer, can't use my creatacard gold 3. Devastated, must be a way. HELP!

You haven't said why you can't use it. I suspect that the software is not compatible with your new operating system.
So--a workaround. Get Virtual Box software from Oracle (it's free).
Install it and it will create a virtual drive you your computer. On this drive you can install the old operating system (like XP if that is what you had). This will work exactly like another computer and you'll be able to install and run the software.
The directions for exactly how to do this are too long for me to type here, but on Oracle's site you should find them.

I have been using eCopy on my laptop computer with Windows XP. I had to get a new computer wihich has Windows 7. I cannot get eCopy to print to a pdf. For some reason the program will not print to a pdf...

Try running your program in XP 'compatibility' mode or if you have Windows 7 Ultimate with appropriate CPU, use native W7 'XP MODE' to run your application.

Another good solution is to install a Virtual Machine (VM) and install XP under it to run your non-compatible applications and drivers.

A good free VM that I use myself for this purpose is Oracle VIRTUALBOX whcih incidentally also has excellent USB support (which is lacking in the Microsoft free offering).

Hope it helps and good luck.

I want install oracle 8i in windows 7

You can't install that Oracle version directly on a Windows 7 machine, but you should be able to install it on XP Mode.
Oracle 8.1 is not supported on Windows 7. It is never intended to be used on Windows 7. You have to look at virtualisation (Virtual Box, Virtual Pc, WMware), to get Oracle 8i installed on Win XP, 2000, 98.

no keyboard detected. fatal error... system halted = your keyboard is dead, replace it. If you get the same message after a new keyboard then the PS2 connector is dead, you will have to use an USB keyboard.

How to install oracle 8i in windows 7

Hi,

Oracle 8i is never intented to be used on Windows 7. Oracle will not support it. I think you have to look at virtualisation (Virtual Box, Virtual Pc, WMware), to get Oracle 8i installed on Win XP (or Win 2000/98).
