Ethernet cable network doesn't work on my MP4000

The WIFI is working (but it's not very stable, it's for that I need to connect my MPC4000 with cable). The IP address / Gateway / Subnet Mask are configured. the LED on Ethernet port is orange 3 seconds at the printer starting, and after...nothing, no light. My cable is OK, I tried it on a computer. When I print the configuration page, I've this : DHCP : OFF IPv4 Address : 11.22.33.44 (WHY ? the ip is configured with 192.168.1.101) Subnet Mask : 0.0.0.0 (255.255.255.0 configured) Gateway Address : 0.0.0.0 (192.168.1.7 configured / it's the router) But the only good IP on this page is DNS Server : 192.168.1.7 (router)

I think there are 6 ways (at least?) to connect this printer:
(1) Direct to Mac (or PC) via USB Cable (2) Direct to Mac (or PC) via Ethernet Crossover Cable(3) Ethernet to router/switch, with Mac/PC also via Ethernet to router/switch(4) Ethernet to router/switch, with Mac/PC via WiFi (802.11 wireless)(5) WiFi to router, with Mac/PC via Ethernet to router/switch(6) WiFi to router, with Mac/PC also via WiFi.
As (1) should be simplest, tried this first. First document would print instantly and completely, next doc would hang in queue with unexpected msg, "Printer is offline." Only way to print 2nd doc was to power cycle (off-on) the printer. This problem occurred whether 2nd doc was sent to printer before or after 1st doc had printed. Tried 2nd USB cable, tried new driver, tried reinstalling printer; same problem. Spoke to both Samsung and Apple support, including both on a conference call; never got this to work and never clarified if problem was in printer hardware/software, driver, or something else. Both companies now showing this issue as unresolved.
Nothwithstanding USB problem, did succeed in modes (4) and (6), although custom wireless config needed since my network does not broadcast SSID and requires an encryption password. Procedure required connecting first via Ethernet, obtaining Configuration Report by holding down orange button for 5 seconds, then using browser to connect to the printer's IP address. Also required different driver for wireless config (as opposed to USB).
Bottom line: What seemed simple - USB direct connect - proved unworkable, but wired and wireless network config works fine.

Share Your Internet Connection with More Than One Computer- The Easy Way

Here is a simple way share your home internet connection with more than one computer. This will work for both wired and wireless and doesn't require alot of technical or computer skills to accomplish. I'm sure there are other ways, but if you're looking for a simple repeatable setup, here it is.

If you've got a dsl connection through a dsl modem, this TIP will work for you.
If you've got a cable modem, this TIP will work just as well.

Here's a list of what you'll need.

  1. Dsl or cable modem that works on your system and you can access internet with one computer (If you're using the internet, most likely you've got this already).
  2. Wired (Ethernet) or Wireless Router (wifi routers have 4-6 ethernet ports also).
  3. For Wired: Ethernet cable to connect modem to router.
  4. For Wireless: Wifi compatible computer or wifi card for your computer (follow manufacturer's instructions for proper install).
Procedure:
  1. Turn all components off. This includes anything on your existing network- computer, modem, printer and any router you may currently be using.
  2. With all power off, connect an ethernet cable between your modem and your new cable/dsl router(wired or wireless).
  3. Turn on the power to your new router only and let it boot up completely.
  4. Turn on the dsl/cable modem and allow it to boot. Since the router was booted first, the modem with recognize the router's MAC address (ethernet numerical address) and connect that address to the internet.
  5. Connect all the other components onto the router with the ethernet cables as needed and turn on the components- no particular order is necessary after the router and modem are booted. Your router will assign MAC addresses to all the ethernet components. Once the MAC address is assigned, your computer should work correctly with the internet and shouldn't drop out when the second computer is turned on.
  6. For wireless connections, boot up your computer with the properly installed Wifi card, airport card and allow it to "find" your router. Once you get confirmation of the signal, you're good to go.
Following this procedure will allow your modem, your router to use their designed software to connect you without a bunch of programming. You will actually enjoy having more than one computer sharing an internet connection.

Remember this procedure and follow the steps again if you lose power and have to reboot your network.

Find network key on sb6141

The term "Network Key or Passphrase" indicates your printer is asking for a WiFi password, but the SB6141 is not a WiFi capable device at all, it's just a Cable-to-Ethernet device. So then, you need to look at your WiFi router, which should be connected with an Ethernet cable to your SB6141. If this doesn't match your setup, you'll either need to get a WiFi router hooked up (that process will contain the answer to your question) or simply use an Ethernet cable for your printer.

Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router wifi working but local connection to my computer doesn't work. configuration is working on my computer but it doesnt receive any connectio.

1. check the Ethernet cable
2. check the DNS/DHCP setting ( should be set to Obtain IP automatically) on both.
3. Do an ipconfig / release then renew in the command line in the DOS window
4. if cable is good move it to another port in the router.
5. check the release/renew of the ip in the router con fig window> usually 192.168.0.1 > inputted in the browser<
6. check the light status of the port where the Ethernet ( if yellow then ip needs to be released / renewed.

My laptop is showing no connections when the ethernet cord is connected and my wifi is not working properly.i have insprion 1510

If before this you dont face this problem, so try rollbakc driver for that adapter. open device manager and go to adapter-> properties . In dirver tab, click roll back driver.

How ever, if you think that not problem from driver, try change other cable.
maybe that cable is damage. try new cable (ETHERNET crossover cable)

Ibook wont log onto my network

I ran into this with my home network and my old g3 ibook needed the older speed wifi to connect. I found my old wifi router, hooked an ethernet cable to the newer router (in a regular ethernet port) and connected the other end to the internet port on the old one... they linked and worked fine to provide wifi for the old G3's ..

Im trying to connect my ps3 to my wireless router. it has recently stopped working. is there anything i can do?

Sure! Try this:
1 Turn your network off. Modem router, computer, printers etc. turn them off.
2. Leaving the wireless router connected to the modem with an ethernet cable (modem power off) , turn your wifi router on and let it cycle up.
3. After the router is cycled up, turn power on to your modem , leaving the ethernet cable connected to the wifi router's internet port. Let the modem cycle up .
4. After this, turn on all computers, routers and etc... no particular order.
This should allow your modem to find the wifi router and direct it to your computer via wifi or ethernet..
