The strip between freezer and fridge is very hot

The strip of metal between the freezer and fridge on my whirlpool side by side is very hot. Also, the freezer isnt keeping things frozen and the fridge isnt as cold as it should be. The temp is adjusted to the coldest setting for both sides of the unit.

Sounds as if you either need to clean the coils under the unit, they are clogged and unable to disapate correct amount of heat, or your fan mounted behind the unit, next tothe compressor has failed..YOUR UNIT IS WORKING EXTRA HARD TO GET RID OF HEAT.check those 2 places

You have a defective defrosting strip. A hearing element that warms the side of the fridge to melt ice that collects. Your fridge is dangerous to operate. You have a possible short in the defrost system that can electrocute you. You should unplug immediately. I am SERIOUS.

My whirlpool reftrigertor side by side, fridge side is hot and the seals are extremely hot. I just bought it today at a tag sale, it is only a year oldm, what can the problem be?

If the cooling is OK specially in the freezer and the fridge, then you need not have to worry on much. If there is no cooling then the unit must be checked for failure in the sealed unit.
However you can select a NORMAL thermostat setting for the fridge /.freezer , set it lower than the present settings. Also check and see if the unit had the panels removed, if so the insulation of the heat exchange coils could have come off and it might be heating the side metal wall of the fridge.
The heating of the coil is quite normal as due to the heat exchange needed for the cooling.

Stripe between fridge and freezer is extremely hot to touch

It is 100% the condensor fan motor on the back. Its not two hard to replace. Take the screws off the back panel and remove. Then locate fan. Disconnect the wires going to the motor and then unscrew the scews that mount the motor. Take the part to parts store of look it up online. Then simply remount motor and plug wires in.

Front metal , top heating element very hot

This should be OK. There are heat strips placed behind the door frame to prevent sweating around the door frame due to the metal being cold normally without the strips. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Fridge humming and hot to touch between fridge/freeze (side-side)

It sounds like your compressor is going bad. The part you mentioned being hot is normal.

Water dripping from freezer onto top shelf of fridge with ice buildup back of freezer

the defroster isn't close enough to the drain to be effective. remove the back wall of the inside of the freezer, remove the excess ice. clear out the ice from the drain using hot water and a turkey baster. there is a kit from whirlpool that uses a piece of metal and a screw around the defrost rod, but I found out that a piece of 14 gauge solid core wire with the insulation stripped off works great too. stick the stripped wire into the drain, 2 to 3 inches, and wrap the rest around the defrost rod.

Fridge freezer over heating and is not cooling fridge section

It is normal for the middle strip to be hot. Did you check the temp setting in the fridge section?
Also - you might check for blockage in the bottom. Excessive dirt/dog hair can block the air flow.
Good luck
