Just replaced the lamp in an XD520U and am having the same problem, but not hearing any high pitch noise. The Lamp has been reset correctly, and checking the info screen verifies it, but still after a

Just like this previous writer, I have a Mitsubishi XD520U and replaced the bulb. I reset the projector using the arrow and power buttons. The projector fires up normally, the fan is running, but after about 1 minute the dispay flickers and the screen goes nearly white before the unit shuts down. No status light is given. I am able to check the info on the menu and it does appear that the lamp reset has taken, as no hours are on the lamp time. Thanks

Have you used a genuine replacement lamp? There are some clones coming from oriental sources that do not accurately match the specifications of the original, and it's possible this may be the cause of the problem...
Was the old lamp still working when replaced? If so, reinstall it teporarily and see if the problem has gone. If so, it's the new lamp that's the cause of it

My toshiba mod. 52hm95 lamp cooling fan is making noise and i am having trouble locating a replacement

Fan like noise may be a fan or the color wheel---color wheel spins at high speed(lamp faces it) and when failing you will have a high pitched or fan like sound---hard failure and you will hear a grinding sound.

Sharp XG-3790E projector switches off soon after it is switched on

if you replaced the lamp recently, you'll need to reset the lamp timer. if it's a dlp projector, could be the colorwheel. listen for a high-pitched whir when the lamp strikes. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel. if you do, check the fans to make sure they work. if all else is fine, replace the ballast/power supply.

When I turn it on I get a buzzing whine, picture is fine, and now noise has a rattle to it. Would this be the color wheel or maybe the cooling fan?

could be either. remove the lamp. you'll see on the lamp door a plastic protrusion. this is to press the door switch. find that switch and hold it in with a screwdriver. now turn the projector on and look inside the lamp housing in the direction that the lamp would be pointing. do you see the colorwheel spin? it should spin with a high-pitched whir. if you hear the bad noise when it starts up, replace the colorwheel. otherwise, locate the bad fan and replace it.

My bulb went out in my x1a so i replaced it now it

is the led on the top of the projector blinkng at all? if there is no led lit, the fuse on the power supply may be blown or the power supply itself needs replacing. turn the projector on. you should hear the fans and a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear that whir or it sounds like a noisy motor, the colorwheel needs replacing. if it sounds good but no light, make sure you have the correct lamp. the x1a takes the sp-lamp-009 lamp. it should have 2 white wires, each at opposite ends of the plug. if you have a lamp with a red wire and a white wire, you have a lamp for an x2. also make sure the lamp door is closed completely. if the door is closed (hitting the switch), the lamp is correct, the led is green, and the sounds are good and it still does not light, the ballast is bad and needs replacing.

Samsung Dlp HL-R7178w not turning On.

If all 3 leds blink, it can be the lamp, ballast (lamp driver), color wheel, or dmd board (all are engine parts = engine failur). its usually the lamp, but you can listen to troubleshoot. when it turns on, you will hear the fans come up (humm..airflow noise), then you will hear the colorwheel (high pitched squeel.. it will come up to speed) and then the ballast will fire up the lamp.. if the lamp doesn't fire, you will hear the spark gap fire (a 1 second buzz noise indicating bad lamp).. the gap will fire 3 times, they tv will then retry again and again until it shuts off and kicks out the error. this power up path will help you listen to find your problem. i can assist further.
