You have a direct short in the power board. Replace the speakers.

How would you know if power supply surged in my 110v toshiba e-studio283 because it might plugged into 220v by the operator?

Check the fuse. Normally, it would represent a dead set when accidentally plugged to a higher voltage. If you are lucky, the fuses will go off. On the power supply board, there is usually a filter stage and a voltage suppressor stage. The metal oxide varistor will pop or burn out when the appliance is plugged into a higher voltage.

There is no power to the subwoofer when its pluged in

hi; try to check the power cord and AC plug if still good condition, if ok.
open the back cover of you wooper using screw driver, search the fuse where AC cord was connected,
if you find the fuse check if it's blown. some wooper has varistor and thermistor for protection,
try to check if it has burn parts, you cen remove it and replace it by soldering iron, you can buy these parts at your local electronic store.
if you cannot do this soldering things, call a repair technician
thanks hope this help you,,,

My charger is accidentaly connect into 220v and this is burn. im here in philippine. its this to repair and i use again...

Is this a 110Volt version that you plugged into 220v?

There is a ceramic Fuse inside the unit that might be blown. It is the first thing on the circuit board near the power cord connection.

Open the unit up and post a photo of any burned components ?

I plugged it into 220V outlet and Brother HL 2140 only accepted 110-120V. Is there a fuse somewhere I can access and replace? THank you.

hi. I had the same problem and to fix it you need to take printers right-side cover off. Underneath you'll find a Power Supply Board - hidden under metal cover. Take it out and disconnect two cables from it. Now, I had to replace an fuse 125V 4A and varistor E241AD 83P on the Power Supply Board in mine HL-2140. It works fine now.

Note: I could not find the exact replacements in electronic store so I used:

- fuse: 250V 4A

- varistor: FNR 10K241 (241 is the important number)

Hope it helps.

DC18RA from 110v to 220v

The varistor you have to change is the one that runs parallel on the current after the fuse, in my case it was easy to find as it was the one with the plastic hood on it.

I'm going to update the webpage with some new pictures that I hope would hetp to clarify it.
