Question about Hoover SteamVac Carpet/Upholstery Deep Cleaner Vacuum
The hose is tearing away from the unit underneath the black tank. No longer have suction.
If you take it into guarantee vacuum and sewing center they will fix it for you at little to no cost to you if you already have the new hose if not it will not be cheap with labor and the cost of the hose

SOURCE: Lost suction, gasket problem
This is a great basic steam cleaner. I have not heard of repeated problems of this type. The gasket is called a standpipe gasket. I would try to use a non-permanent sealant such as RTV silicone to adhear the gasket, eventually if this needed service you will want the gasket to be able to be removed.

There are 2 filters, make sure they are clean, one is on the tank lid, the other is from the bottom, it is red, pull it out and clean it. If yours has a foam filter on the tank lid covering the yellow ball, make sure there is at least a 1/4 in. gap from the top. Also make sure that the lid in on and secured tightly.

Might just be a bad sensor, or it is coated over with dirt. If the tank lid has one of those round filters on it, make sure it isn't pushed all of the way up to the top, needs to have a 1/4 inch gap.

Before using tool
It may be necessary to remove air from
the system (“prime the pump”) so the
clean solution will flow to the tool. Follow
1. Attach tool to hose and turn the carpet
2. Put the tool on a hard surface or
against your hand to block off the suction.
3. Wait a few seconds (can take up to
15 seconds). Then squeeze the trigger
and begin cleaning.
