Braun no longer supplies this type of replacement part for any of their shavers. Unfortunately, they are no longer available.

How do I remove the batteries from a Norelco 4605x razor ?

Remove the 4 screws on the back to take off the back cover. You will have to extend the trimmer to access 2 of the screws. You can then unsolder the batteries from the circuit board.

If you are replacing the batteries, for easier replacement, it is suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

You will find replacement batteries for model at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

To change the batteries, you will need to remove the lotion cartridge cover on the back and then remove the screws on the back of the inner cover. Remove the back to get to the inside of the shaver. The batteries are soldered to the circuit board. You can unsolder them or it is sometimes suggested that you use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather than unsoldering them from the circuit board. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves the tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs. Reassemble in reverse order

Norelco razor 6867xl - am planning to replace battery pack. Would be easier to solder if I could remove the whole circuit board system from the hard plastic case. How do you release the metal clips?

The whole circuit board is removable, and I would recommend removing it from the whole external case to work on so nothing is damaged by your soldering iron.

I have a Braun 5525 rechargeable razor purchased in 1996. It no longer recharges, and in the charge window displays a jagged line rather than a battery image. Is this a problem with the internal cell, and...

In that case, the circuit board in also bad. This happens when the batteries aren't changed in a timely manner. You can buy a circuit board with batteries at shaveroutlet.com. See link below.

To open the shaver you will need to remove the two plastic screw covers on the bottom on either side of the port where the plug fits in. Then remove the screws underneath. The outer case will then slide off the bottom. You may need to reposition the travel lock to get it all the way of. Then unsnap the black plastic back of the inner case and remove it. You can then lift out the old circuit board. Reassemble in reverse order.

Battery is not holding charge as long as it used

Sure, the batteries can be replaced. Some soldering is required. If you are capable, you can do it yourself or you can have it professionally done. shaveroutlet.com offers the batteries or repair service. See links below

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-battery-pack-for-most-norelco-more-p-278.html

If you decide to have it professionally done, you can simply purchase the repair service from the website and follow the instructions for sending it in to the company.

If you do it yourself, you will need toremove the two screws on the back of the shaver to remove the back cover. You will the see the batteries andwhere they are connected to the circuit board.
You may find it easy to use a modified installation technique. This is to break the tabs off of the old batteries rather that removing them from the circuit board. You can use a small flat screwdriver or similar object to do this. This allows the old batteries to be removed but leaves their tabs attached to the circuit board. You can then solder the tabs from the new batteries to the old existing tabs

if the shaver is DEAD and the green light no longer illuminates when you plug it in, the circuit board is almost certainly bad. The circuit board will burn out if you run the shaver from the batteries for a long time after the batteries have stopped charing properly.
you can purchase a new circuit board which has the batteries alrady on it. it just needs to be dropped in place inside the shaver.
you will find this part at shaveroutlet.com. see link below

Shaver suddenly stopped working

I had the same problem with mine right after the two year warranty expired.

BUT I FIXED IT!!!

The problem seems to be bad engineering. Apparently the cleaning solution works its way into the circuit board of the shaver.

I took the razor apart (you need very small phillips screwdrivers), there are six screws. First remove the foils, then the blades (just pull them up). Two screws are where the head rotates. after removing the head, there are two more screws underneath the head. There are two more screws on the bottom under plastic caps beside the charging terminal. You can now gently slide the razor's hardware out of the case by pulling up on the head mounting arms while holding the case as you normally would shaving. (This sounds confusing but should be obvious as you do it.)

Looking at the circuit board i noticed some white residue on the board. I gently cleaned the board with small amount of alcohol and q-tips, being careful not to catch any cotton on the components of the board. At this point you can at least confirm that the motor is not burnt out and the batteries are charged by placing a flathead screwdriver between the positive terminal of the battery and the motor. It should come on if the motor and batteries are okay.

Next you hit the reset button at the bottom-front, then see if it comes on using the on/off button. You can do this step with the razor disassembled or assembled.

Hopefully this works for you. Now if only i could figure out a way to clean and refill the cartridges instead of paying $5 for 5 cents worth of cleaning fluid.
