My soniclean vacuum runs but as soon as I put the vacuum to carpet or floor the it shuts off and the check brush light comes on. Nothing is blocking the brushes or stuck in the intake hole

Sounds like the belt for the brush is worn, stretched, or loose. Replace the belt. OR the brush is set to low or set for hard floor. Set the brush up to next mark until it works. Using it set to low can cause the brush belt to stretch over time. If it spins when not in contact with the floor- it is the belt.

Why won't my oreck xl upright brush turn

You could have a couple of problems, the first and simplest to fix is a broken belt. You can check that by taking the screw out of the side door of your vacuum and take the door off. You should see the motor shaft towards the back of the unit and the pulley for the brush roll at the front of the unit. If your belt is broken you can just replace it with a new one and put the door back in place and replace the screw and you should be back in business. If the belt is not broken and is around the motor shaft and brush pulley, you could have bad bearings on your brush roll or you could have hair and lint bound up around the bearings of the brush roll. Depending on how long you have had that brush roll in your vacuum, you might want to check into replacing it. If you have to take off the bottom cover to get to the brush roll, you need to take out 5 screws that hold the bottom plate on. If you take the brush roll out make sure you note which way the marks on the bearings are showing. If you have several "hash" marks showing that is the setting for a new brush, if only 1 "hash" mark is showing that is the setting for a used brush. If you have had it for a while and you find it on the new setting and the vacuum has not been "pulling" itself while vacuuming then you probably should turn the bearings over to the used setting and that will lower the brush closer to the floor and should start pulling again. Hope this helps! Sorry it is so long.

Replace brushes

In the middle of the housing set on both sides, there is a cap cover you have to pry off with a small screwdriver to get to the brush caps. Screw the brush caps off and remove the brushes (PN CB-430). If the brushes are stuck, pull on them until they come out. If the brush contacts/wires break off, you'll have to remove the armature and push the brushes through the brush holders. If the brush holders are damaged, replace the end bell, PN638448-2.

You need to replace the belt whenever the green brush indicator light goes out or is not steady. Be sure to observe the wear settings when re-installing the brush. The ends of the brush are marked with 1, 2, or 3 notches and numbers. In normal use the brush should have setting # 1 towards the rug. These settings adjust the brush for wear, and moving the bristles out prematurely will result in excess brush and belt wear.

I have the bissell power force bagged upright vacuum and the brush is not turning, I have replaced the belt but the brush will not move but the metal piece that is hooked to the motor that spins the belt...

sounds like your brush roll is seized. Remove the brush roll (see picture) and make both of the end caps spin freely. If not, replace it and you should be set.

Make sure that the brush roll spins freely.

Hope that helps.

Just replaced the brushes in a Metabo WE14-150Quick Angle grinder

when you replaced the brushes did you notice the tool throwing sparks? Generally when I work on these after replacing the brushes I have to clean the commutator to seat the new set. You could also have other problems, e.g. bad brush holder (did you replace as assembly or just brush) Let me know what happened to the first set and if when you plug in and try it does it come up to full speed.

What do I need to replace the brushes in Bosch Bulldog 11210VSR

Were the brushes severely worn? It's really only the brush that you need to replace, as long as the spring didn't come into contact with the rotor and get worn.

Replacing the brush drive belt on model #1697 carpet cleaner

To replace the Brush Belt:

You will need a Phillips head screwdriver.

1. Turn the machine OFF and unplug from the wall outlet.

2. Step on the release pedal to lay the handle down on the floor.

3. Remove the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle and set them aside.

4. Turn the machine over to expose the brush.

5. Look for the red retainers, which hold the black brush arms and gear-type brush belt in place. Unscrew the two Phillips head screws. Set these parts aside.

6. Loop the replacement brush roll belt around the brush end and the red pulley with the ridges.

7. Alternate holding each brush arm in place while replacing the red retainers.

8. Replace the Phillips head screws and turn until snug.

9. Turn the machine right side up to replace the Tank-in-Tank and SmartMix Bottle.
