Uninstall then make sure you run the setup.exe as administrator.

Also, check to make sure the windows firewall has exceptions for Sharpdesk and the Network Scanner tool, and any other firewalls have the same. Skelton Business Equipment Houston Copiers

Sharpdesk issues


I had this same issue. The problem was because the client was using an older version of Sharp Desk on Windows 7 machines. After uninstalling SD, I installed SD 3.3. No more issues.

One of our Sharpdesk users is unable to view her .pdf files that have been scanned in (as a .pdf) and sent to her desktop. We can view and open the file when we go in her c:sharpdesk desktop file. We just...


You can also right click on the file and left click on "open with" and then select choose program. In the list of programs choose Adobe reader and then at the bottom of the window put a check mark next to "always use the selected program to open this kind of file"
This should take care of the issue

Force NST icon to show up in the tray.


During installation you should of had the choice to add to start up if not all you need to do is copy the NST to the start up folder. As far as "forcing" ip updates not available. You really need to have static IPs for your pcs. If static not available then you should set up the scan to e-mail option.

Sharpdesk Scanner only works with certain computers?


Chances are it's the configuration of SharpDesk that's in question here. SharpDesk is designed to work with a myriad of systems as a scan interface, but older versions (pre 3.2) can be buggy, especially with Adobe Acrobat/Reader below version 7.

What you should do is go to each PC with SharpDesk installed and launch the program, then go to the pulldown menu and click on 'Tools'. Next, highlight 'Product Configuration', then choose the sub-menu item 'Network Scanner Tool'.

Once the tool launches, click on the 'Scanners' tab. In the 'Known Scanners' window make sure the IP check-marked matches that of the copier you're scanning from. Once you've highlighted that IP address, click on the 'Auto Detect' button to the right.

This will send a command to the copier to confirm communications pathways and test them. Once that's completed, click on 'Apply' and you should be able to scan to that PC.

If this doesn't work, you may need to check and verify the actual scan setup entries on the copier's webpage. Launch your normal web browser and plug in the IP of the copier in the address line. If you get a security prompt it's 'admin' (all lower case) for the login name and 'Sharp' (capital 'S', all other letters lower case) for the password.

You'll need to go to 'Destination Management', then whatever setup option you're using (i.e. e-mail, ftp, desktop, etc.) and confirm the existing entries for the scan functions are correct.

I'm trying to un-install Sharpdesk 3.0.3.500 and get an error msg. I need to know how to manually un-install the program.


Have you tried, windows, control panel, add/remove programs?
Or Start button, all programs, sharpdesk, uninstall?
One of these should do it.

We have a new employee. How do I change the name on "image send" to the new employee?


I am assuming you have sharpdesk or network scanner tool installed on the computer you are wanting to send a scan to.
Click on start then programs and look for sharpdesk/network scanner tool and start the NST program. Once it is open/started you should be in the "profiles" tab and there should be some profiles listed (presumably the old employees name). Put a check mark next to the ones you want to delete and click delete. this will remove them from the copiers image send. Then create a new profile (add) with the new employees name and apply the changes. Restart the copier and the employees name should show up.

Scanning on sharp AR-168D copier, printer, scanner


Check your default program for .tif files by going into my computer and finding a tif file. Move the mouse over to the file and press the right mouse button and select properties. Check the opens with icon to see which program it is using. If it isn't set for Microsoft Word, press the change with button and select Microsoft Word. Press the Ok button.

Your tif files should open with Word.
