Sometimes the new blades are not sharpen enough, You need to have it resharpen by a professional and adjust to the type of work you want it to do. Also sometimes even if you have the blade resharpen it will not cut, because the trimmer motor needs more power to move the blade side to side faster. On and the Andis GTO T-outliner trimmer this the most comm problem. Try Mannys Sharpening

My liners always nic someone when im cutting are they to sharp is there anyway to adjust them to not be as sharp

The blade alignment probably just needs adjustment, if you undo the two blade screws a fraction you should be able to move the comb or bottom blade further forward then re-tighten the screws.

My toutliner cutting too sharp

Adjust your blade. Remove it from the clipper, and then loosen (don't remove) the two screws that hold the blade and cutting edge together. Use a FLAT surface, like a ceramic sink top or flat piece of tile, and push the cutting edge down and angle the blade with the cutting edge facing the flat surface down to about a 30 to 35 degree angle. Use your thumb to hold in place until you can retighten the screws. Under a light, inspect to see if it is level (it will be noticeable if it isn't) or oil the blade and touch it to a clean dry piece of paper. If it is level, replace the blade on the trimmer, and edge your beard. It should be better than brand new. This also works when it doesnt seem like the blade is cutting sharp anymore. ALWAYS make sure the cutting edge is lower than the blade or you WILL CUT YOURSELF or YOUR CLIENT!

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. Our complete sharpening & repair service is $19.99 each trimmer, this includes return shipping. We sharpen the blade, adjust and set the blade according to your request (Lineup or Shave setting) make all the necessary adjustments for alignment, power, tension to make your trimmer work better than new. Sometimes the new blades from Andis are not sharpen enough to get that clean cut. also all trimmers need to be readjusted for power and alignment, plus sharpening the blade, it look like you need a complete sharpen & service on your Andis trimmer. check out Manny's Sharpening they have a Mail Order service, the service they provide is fast and they will sharpen make all the adjustment and give your trimmer more power and the blade will cut clean. I brought the andis speedmaster with the pivotpro trimmer model pmt-1 as was happy to purchase but when I got home and use the pro trimmers they didn't outline the way I expected I thought they would edge...

Some outliners have an adjustable blade set while others are fixed. You will need to remove the blade set and observe if the movable blade is adjustable forward and backward in relation to the stationary blade. If it is adjustable, take caution no to adjust the two blades completely flush. If they are too close they will nip and pinch and can break the skin.

My andis trimmer is not giving a very close shave. I like to have sharp line-ups. How do I fix it? I'm not sure of the model, but I'm using the website where I bought it as reference(...

This Andis model is not very good for shaving,I purchase one before didn't do the job. I recommend The Andis GTO you can have it sharpen and adjusted to shave. check out www.mannys-sharpening.com I had purchase my Andis T-outliner service and adjust for shaving. The good thing about manny's sharpening when you purchase Andis T-Outliner he will ask you how would you like your trimmer set at' for line ups or Fade cuts or Shaving set. he resharpen the blade and make sure the trimmer is adjust power and set blade and trimmer too your request. You may pay a little more but it's worth it. Oh one more thing about his service and warranty after 3 month he gives you a free sharpening and service on the Andis trimmer you purchase from him. You only paid for return shipping. I try his service and this guy is good in sharpening and repair. I hope this was help for Tim

My GTO model Andis clippers blade is not properly aligning..how do I adjust it? I BOUGHT NEW BLADES FOR MY ANDIS LINER BUT IT STILL DOES NOT CUT SMOOTH AND SHARP. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM.

YOU HAVE TO OPEN DEM UP. TAKE OUT THE SCREWS ON THE TOP DEN TAKE OFF THE BLADE. ONCE YOU HAVE THE BLADE OUT THERE ARE TWO MORE LIL SCREWS UNSCREW THOSE (NOT ALL THE WAY OFF, JUST ENOUGH SO THAT THE BLADE WILL MOVE) ADJUST THE BLADE HOWEVER YOU WANT. IF YOU WANT IT CLOSE FOR A MORE DETAILED CLOSE LINE (NOT TO CLOSE AS DEY WILL CUT YOUR OR THE CLIENTS SKIN). YOU MUST TRY THEM OUT ON YOURSELF SEE IF THEY ARE TOO SHARP, IF THEY ARE TAKE THEM OFF AND ADJUST THEM AGAIN. EASIEST THING TOO DO IS USE A MIRROR, HOLD THE BLADE AGAINST THE MIRROR DEN MOVE IT AT AN 45 ANGLE DEN TIGHTEN THE SCREWS DER (BARBER TRICK).
