If the latch has been pushed down without a blade on it you will need to get a flat head screw driver. Push up the blade lock and put the screwdriver behind the the tongue on the hinge. While pushing up on the latch push the tongue out with the screw driver. If you need any add'l assistance please call the Andis customer service dept at 1-800-558-9441.

Hood latch will not close.

if you look down into the latch with a flash light you should see the hood release cable. it will be attached to a lever. if the lever is stuck all the way to the drivers side than the latch is sticking. Spray some penetrating lube into the latch and then use a thin blade screwdriver to help push it the other way. Continue to spray lubricant, pull the hood release, and move the lever with a screwdriver until it moves freely.

Portercable 737 tigersaw can't keep a blade in the quick latch

You can try spraying some lubricant into the blade holder. Sometimes the "ball" in the shaft gets stuck from dirt. Otherwise you will need to disassemble it by removing the roll pin that holds the collar on the shaft.

OVEN DOOR LATCH BLOCKS THE OVEN DOOR FROM CLOSING ALL THE WAY. I CANNOT GET THE DOOR LATCH TO RETRACT.

Hi

There could be couple things. First, try pushing the door closed as you turn the handle. The latch may have dropped into the strike hole completely, binding the latch. Or you may try lifting the door as you try and open it. Friction is the one thing that most often happens causing a latch not to retract.
Another possibility is that the latch may have become detached from the knob set. If this is the case, you will have to remove the lock from the door, and from there you can open the door with a flat blade screwdriver. I recommend replacing the latch as well. If you remove the lock from the inside of the door, using a flat blade screwdriver you can pull the little 'T' that sticks out from the latch on the inside of the hole. This pulls the latch back away from the strike, allowing you to open the door.

There are different configurations of latches, and they activate like way. You could run into a long latch the lock runs through. You can use a large flat blade to activate that. If you have the type with the half moon, use the outside of the lock body, stick it into the half moon, and turn the whole thing to retract the latch.

Please get back to us if you have further query or else please accept the solution.

Ok the silver metal plate goes on first then the black latch will connect to the hinge, there are two small holes either side of the latch where two spring ends poke through then simply screw it back on, not sure if you can put the blade drive on the wrong way.

I just recieved a new Oster Golden A5 single speed from Amazon. The clippers worked fine with the no. 10 blade that was mounted on clipper. I removed the blade and now I can't get it back on or the 4f...

ok the blade latch only holds the blade into place.

the hinge assembly which the latch sits behind needs to be open, there is a silver piece with two ridges on, place a flat bladed screwdriver behind the hinge and this will lever open you can then slot the blade onto the hinge and close shut with the clipper running.

Cutting blade doesn't move

could be the spring is faulty on thie hinge assembly or the tip of the latch has brocken off not securing the blades to the clipper, either way check to see if the blade will disconnect from the clipper without depressing the latch. related clipper parts can be found at www.angliaclipperservices.com

I have andis AGC 2 dog clippers. I have having trouble taking off/removing the blade that came with the clippers. The under portion of the blade assembly seems to be stuck. Also, since I'm having so...

Ok you need to locate the Latch which holds the blades into place. There should be a black piece of metal at the rear end of the clipper blade whilst on the clippers, simply push this in towards the blade and at the same time pull the front edge of the blade away from the clipper to release this should simply pull off in a forward direction.
Fitting is easier slide a blade onto the tongue of the Hinge Assembly and pull it into the body of the clipper.

The blade lock is not locking . When you put pressure on the blades they pop off

Most makes of clipper including Oster, Andis, Wahl have a latch which is depressed to release the blades. The latch is commonly situated under the hinge assembly and holds the blade with a simple hook at the tip which catches on the blades.
If the blades will pull off without depressing the latch, chances are the tip has broken off and will require replacement.
Undo the two screws securing the hinge into place and remove both parts, when fitting the new latch make sure the spring ends of the hinge locate through the holes on either side of the latch.
