Fail to scan from printer to pc

I cannot scan direct from my printer to the Pc It was all working well before we installed Windows 7

SOURCE: Multi-function Samsung CLX-3175 doesn't scan to PC

I had the same issue with Windows 7 64 bit.I managed to solve it by doing the following
1. Locate the scan2pc.exe program in C:\Windows\twain_32\Samsung\CLX3170 2. Right-click/properties - Compatibility tab. 3.Set compatibility to win xp. Set "Run as Administrator"
I also added the scan2pc.exe to the firewall allowed programs (did that for scanmgr.exe as well, but I don't think I needed to).
Works great now!

OCR doesn't work with WINDOWS 7 and my Lexmark X5650es printer


Try this approach:1. Uninstall your existing printer driver. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark X5600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. After the uninstall process, reboot your pc when prompted.2. When your pc turns on, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system. On your computer, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > click on Properties. Take note of the System Type.3. Use the link below to download and re-install the corresponding printer driver for your operating system:- Lexmark X5650 Printer Driver for Windows 7 32-bit- Lexmark X5650 Printer Driver for Windows 7 64-bitSimply follow the instructions on your computer screen to complete the installation.4. To re-install the Lexmark OCR scan software, insert the printer software installation CD in your pc CD-ROM drive.5. Click on Install > Install Additional Software > select the Lexmark OCR Scan Software > continue with normal installation steps.
Then try to create a PDF or Scan and Edit text (OCR) to verify that the problem is fixed.

After getting Windows 7 I can't use the scanner button on my F340 aqll in one and I can't figureout the scanner feature on Windows 7


It sounds like you installed the generic OS driver from Windows 7. This driver only works for the printer. (Alternatively, you do not have the monitor program running or the destinations set in the HP software.)

If you plugged in the data cable before installing the HP software, uninstall the printer (Devices and Printers) then disconnect the data cable (USB). Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=1128309& and select your Win7 version (32- or 64-bit). Then click Next. Expand the section marked driver and download the Full Software. Install the software. Connect the data cable when prompted to do so. (Try a new USB cable since scanning requires bi-directional communication with the printer and can fail when the printer works). Avoid using a USB hub or print server.

If you do have the HP software installed, check that the monitor program is running (Start > Control Panel > System and Security > Adminstrative Tools > Component Services > Services.) The line for the HP monitor should say started. You may need to download and install the patches or the diagnostic utility from the above site to find a specific problem with the Win7 installation.

Next launch the HP software and attempt to scan from the computer. Next use the settings that give good results to program the defaults for the scan destination buttons. Now try to use the scan buttons on the all-in-one.

Once you have the HP drivers for both the printer and the scanner installed, the Windows 7 Fax and Scan and Paint programs should let you successfully scan from the computer. (New scan for fax and scan. File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan for Paint.)

I can no get my printer to scan to my computer


Do you have the full software (MP Navigator) installed? Get that software here: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp510#DriversAndSoftware and select your OS. Since the printer is a USB printer, is it directly connected and did you install the software before connecting the USB cable? If you didn't install the software before you connected the USB cable, uninstall the generic driver from the OS and remove the USB cable. Then install the software.

If the full software was installed before connecting the printer, try a new cable and a direct connection (instead of a print server or USB hub). Scanners require bi-directional communication with the computer and can fail when the printer works. Make sure the monitoring program is running before attempting to scan from the all-in-one.

Next try to scan from the computer first. There are buttons in the MP Navigator software that set the destination and default settings of the buttons on the all-in-one. After you scan at least one item, you will have a better idea of the settings that you need to use. See the MP Navigator help files for the details.

If you install the basic Canon driver, you will be able to scan but not from the unit directly. Windows XP and newer all come with Paint that can acquire scans (File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan). Windows Vista and Windows 7 have Windows Fax and Scan that can also scan files (New Scan). Photo Gallery in Windows Live (comes with Vista) also handles scanning.

The generic OS driver usually only runs the printer.

Windows 7 is not recognizing me Epson RX595


The following steps may help:

  1. Remove all the drivers and software installed for this printer.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Click here to go to the driver download page. Download the driver for Win 7 and install.
  4. Connect the printer to your PC, the installation will continue.
  5. After installation, you should be able to use your printer.

My hp director will not open i have talked to 2 of your online experts & the told me several things but it will not work

Did you get an error message on your PC screen? Or on the printers screen?
I understand you have uninstalled & re-installed your printer software a few times. If each time you installed & you used the HP CD you can stop using that CD. There can only be three reasons why your all-in-one fails to scan. Yes one is re-install the software. However you do not use your CD from HP. You use more current software from HP. Which you can get directly from HP & allowing HP to scan for your (connected & powered on printer). Click on the link below.

If this new software fails to load HP director & your scanner still fails there is one last thing that can cause your scanner from failing. I know this all too well because it happened to me the week of April 14th. In my case, after five uninstalls & six installs. I called HP. It was strange, I knew more than the tech at HP. All in all my Windows did not have some basic files in windows system & in system32 folders. It's impossible to pull the correct files off the windows CD because HP did not know the file names that should be in windows system & system32 folders. I had no choice but to do a fresh clean install of window XP. This is what you may have to do as well. The biggest difference between us is I have a spare HP printer. Different model but still an all-in-one. When I hooked up the second printer & installed the software directly from the link I posted above, the all-in one also failed to scan. The odds of two HP printer having the same problem is high.
Once I finished installing windows & updated windows complete I went back to the HP's link & installed the online software. Everything is back to running as it should. No more scanner failures & no errors. HP director loaded.
Sorry mablekeats, no quick fix! In regards to your printer, if you follow what I have done you're printer should be just fine.
There is not always one way to fix anyone problem.
Every PC is different.
