The kneading mechanism just stopped kneading :( so sad! It's pretty old I guess. Do I have to bury it or is there a quick fix?

Be sure your machine is unplugged and take the panel off the bottom of the machine. Take a look in there and you will probably find that your drive belt has snapped or come off. If so contact for a replacement belt.

I have a toastmaster Bread Box bread machine...I am making French bread...the banging noise was so loud I stopped it fearing the machine was it ? If not should I continue the kneading/baking...

Unless the sound is mechanical like metal on metal etc. what you may be hearing is the sound of the dough ball being knocked around and kneaded. Sometimes that gets pretty loud. While it is kneading go ahead and open the top and see if you think the dough ball is making the noise. If it seems to be coming from somwhere else then you may have a more serious problem. Is this a new noise or it this the first time you have used the machine?

Hi, Take the pan out of tha machine and see if the paddle spins freely by hand. If yes that's great...if no then the sealed bearing might be sticking and starting to fail. Next check the tension on the belts. The motor and belts are located in the base of the machine. Be sure to unplug machine and ask someone to help you if you are not mechanically inclined. Hank

Basket is not staying in place during the kneading process and the noise is unbelievable! Help!

Take the bread pan out of the machine. Start a kneading cycle and see if the noise is still there. If yes then motor spindle is bent, the motor is bad or the belts are pulleys need attention. If the noise you heard is not as bad, then it is the seal on the bread pan ( the seal and shaft that the paddle goes on).

It stops kneading and won't start again on its own. The only way to get it going again is to put it on "pause/stop", then push "start".

We have 2 machines.... BOTH operate about the same.
Load the raw materials and press Start. The both Knead for awhile the stop for a period of time to allow the dough to rise.... then start again... then pause for some time.... The knead and rise times vary with the setting we put in for our receipt/bread type.

Does this help/provide and insight?

Kneading Blade chattering

I had the same problems with another manufactures model. I found that the bread pan needs to slot in the machine only one way. The pan will fit in the machine with the handle both vertical and parallel to the front. However to stop the clacking noise I found that one way in the makes noise, the other way it doesn't. You'll have to try. If it makes noise, open the lid and turn the bread pan 45 degrees in either direction and secure it back in the breadmaker then close the lid. I hope this helps. If it does, remember how the pan is in the machine for next time to avoid the noise.
