After post screen monitor goes into standby and cannot boot from dvd


Not picking up video card, or rather losing communications. Use VGA port if available on you card, and make sure monitor is set to same connection port.

My computer is not working....i am stuck in windows system32 drivers disk.sys when i try the safe mode...and the installation stops and just turn into black... can anyone help me ragarding this problem?...


If computer does not start normally, use this checklist to identify specific symptoms and take the recommended corrective actions to resolve the problems.Perform a Hard Reset Do these actions first to clear all temporary setting before troubleshooting the problem.Disconnect all peripheral devices and remove all USB devices and media cards Disconnect the AC power adapter, remove the battery, and then press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to drain residual charge
  1. Reconnect the AC power adapter (do not connect the battery), press the Power button and look for the LEDs to blink or glow, and listen for the sound of a disk drive and fan turning.
Perform each recommended corrective action and then attempt to restart the computer.Symptom 1: LED lights do not glow, display is black, no fan or drive sounds are heard, and computer does not startIf LEDs do not glow or blink when AC power adapter is attached and power button is pressed, there is no power available to the notebook.
  • Check AC adapter wiring and power connection to the notebook.
  • Connect a different AC power adapter and remove battery, then restart notebook.
  • Connect a different battery and disconnect AC power adapter, then restart notebook.
  • If there is no power available at the notebook, contact HP to purchase a replacement battery or AC adapter.
Symptom 2: LEDs blink or computer beeps but does not start Blinking LEDs or beep tones indicate a hardware failure during the pre-start up testing.
  • Count number of blinking LEDs or beeping tones to help with diagnostics testing.
  • Contact HP for technical assistance. There are no other user-initiated troubleshooting actions until error codes are resolved.
Symptom 3: LEDs glow, fan noise may be heard briefly, display remains black, and computer fails to startup or boot Usually occurs if a component is installed incorrectly, or there is a device conflict or failure.
  • Connect an external monitor to check if the problem is the built-in LCD display or graphics card.
  • Remove all CD/DVDs, SD cards, USB devices, peripherals and do a Hard Reset .
  • If memory or hard drive components were replaced, reinstall original components.
  • Remove memory modules and replace one-at-a-time.
  • Remove and reseat hard drive.
  • If possible, turn on power, press F10 to enter BIOS mode, and run Memory Test and Hard Drive Test .
  • On newer notebooks, turn on power, press Esc to enter UEFI mode, and run Memory Test and Hard Drive Test .
  • If possible, turn on power, press F8 to enter Windows Advanced Boot Options , and select Repair Computer option, or enter Safe Mode and run Memory Diagnostics .
  • If all other methods fail , but computer can boot to BIOS, use recovery disk to recover the computer to original condition.
    Note: All programs and data are destroyed during recovery.
Symptom 4: Computer may display an error message on a black screen during startup or boot

  • If possible, turn on power, press F10 to enter BIOS mode, do the corrective actions listed under Symptom 3 to run memory and hard drive tests.
Symptom 5: Computer displays a blue screen or continually re-starts After an error message is displayed, you can usually bypass the error and continue to run the notebook in Safe mode to install an updated BIOS or driver.

Symptom 6: Computer displays the Windows logo screen and stops respondingIf no error message displays, turn on power, press F8 to enter Windows Advanced boot options ,and select Disable auto-restart to view error message.

Update Computer After Resolving A Problem When the computer starts into Windows normally, you should install the latest updates and patches to prevent other start-up problems.

    It would seem that your BIOS has become corrupted somehow. First try entering your BIOS setup. I believe for HP computers when you press power tap the F10 key until it opens. There you can try to reset them in some fashion and save. Try rebooting. If that fails then remove the battery and repeatedly press the power button for about 10 seconds.. (make sure it is also unplugged, this is to discharge the power from the system) then replace the battery and try booting again. Otherwise it would seem that you might have tried to load the wrong BIOS into your laptop. Check with HP then if you are still covered or not. :/

    Black screen only shows power on


    Possibly it's the internal hard disk. Try booting from a CD or an USB key. If it succeeds, boot off a diagnostic CD such as UBCD or CD Sleuth (or your OS recovery disk, if handy) and try diagnosing the hard disk.

    If it does not boot from CD or USB key even when set up in the BIOS, it could be the memory (unlikely) or the motherboard South Bridge (more likely).

    If it doesn't even enter the BIOS setup, it's either the BIOS firmware or the motherboard.

    HP DV6110us: 4 beeps, no boot


    besides the beeps which indicate a motherboard timing issue. There should be LED blinking codes given on the front LEDs. I will include the blink codes below, but lets try to at least get the system up and running. First, I would like you to remove the RAM sticks from the laptop and just reseat one stick back in the machine. Try to boot with that one stick, if it does not, try the other alone. There have been issues when reseating the ram or re-installing it have temp. fixed the issue. If it does reboot, go to the HP support site, put in your model number of your laptop and download and install an updated BIOS. Below are the blink codes that may narrow down the problem.....

    Monitor to black, power LED blinks, hard re-boot and it works


    Take a look at your power saving settings. It sounds like the monitor is set to sleep after 20 or 30 minutes. You may want to change your setting to "never". The settings are under Control Panel - Power management

    PC not booting when AVERmedia TV tuner card is inserted


    Techguru2009: Seems you might have a conflict with your I/O. You need to reset the bios either by loading defaults or just remove the CMOS battery for ten minutes. After start the computer without the pci card. If all is well, then shutdown. insert the card in a different slot on the motherboard. Power up and the bios should recognize the update. Hope this helps.

    Pc wont read monitor


    If you look at the monitor there will be an led light on the front that is always orange or yellow when the computer is off but still connected to the monitor. This led will turn green when the computer boots up, sometimes even showing a "no signal" display before boot. If you see the 'command line'  text during the boot process (video info, BIOS version, POST text, etc) then the monitor is being recognized by the computer. If that text goes away and the led goes back to orange then it is a driver or operating system problem. Pressing whatever key is prompted at the lower left of the display, if you have a display, like F1, F2, F10, Delete or whatever will get you to the setup program and all is good with the display/computer connection and a green light will stay on. If you never get that green led light then either the video card is bad or not seated properly

    Blank Screen while Green LED is Blinking.


    It's because I accidentally plug the cable to the built-in graphics card port. Now I connected it to the right one and my monitor is working great!
