My huawei showing to insert uim card

Did you mean insert sim ?...
Some of the reasons sim card not working in your mobile
1.Bad SIM -if it wasn't unlocked you'd get a message asking you to enter a PIN.Get the pin from an online vendor like http://www.mobile-unlocker.com/huawei/rs2wp8/ .
2.With a warning that you have 10 attempts to enter the correct PIN code or it could be locked forever ,if you don't get that message it's "mostly likely" unlocked.BUT find a phone with a known working SIM and see if it will work and connect to the network.
3.May be a hardware problem try flashing with a custom rom.
4..This has to be a problem with the SIM card slot, which is soldered down to the logic board. It's possible that it's a mechanical problem , you might be able to open it up and discover that the card-detect switch is failing to detect SIM card insertion

Hello, i dropped my nokia n95 on the ground and now i get 'sim card failed', or 'insert sim card'. i have turned unit on/off several times and taken sim card out a few times. is there a key...

Possible that the SIM card detection holder has shifted and so the SIM card is not read or in right position in the holder to contact the connections of the Module.
Remove the SIM card and look into the slot, clean and push up the contacts to touch a little tight when the SIM is inserted. If the SIM is still not detected then there are cracks in the main board.

Phone not accepting a new SIM card

I think you have activated this sim only lock. This should be found under security menu. Try unlocking i first. If none works, you may consider flashing the phone if you need the phone working.

Htc 8925 error "sim card not detected" have removed and replaced sim card have removed battery and rebooted have swithed sim card to annother phone, works fine have replaced sim card with a working sim...

I see this is an older post but I wanted to post the solution that helped me after a very frustrating 30 minutes. I was having the same problem. I bought a new phone (HTC 8925), and when it arrived, I plugged it into the wall charger and inserted the SIM card. I still got the "SIM card not detected" error. After removing an inserting, checking all possibilities of having done it wrong, and searching the internet only to not find the answer, I tried something that worked.

My solution: When I unplugged the charger and reinserted the SIM card, it worked immidiately. It was as if being plugged into the charger was not allowing the phone to reboot completely, even though I was powering the phone down and back up again. Since this was the solution, if you are having the problem and not connected to a charger, I would try a soft reset by pressing the stylus into the button (tiny whole) to the right of the USB port.
