Could I use 4 ply instead of 3ply In a dolls knitting pattern

You should probably do a test to make sure that the pattern using 4-ply yields the same size as it would using 3-ply, otherwise your finished item will not be the correct size. Most patterns have a test pattern to make sure your results are what the resulting pattern should be, ie knit a swatch of the pattern and measure it against what it should be according to the pattern instructions. You may need to change the size of needle to get the best result.

What does the abbreviation SKTPO in knitting stands for?

The abbreviation explanations should be included in your pattern instructions. Pattern designers sometimes use different abbreviations so it is best to refer to the included instructions.

I'm struggling with a knitting pattern how do I tw2 slip next stitch knit 1 pass slip stitch over and then knit into back of knitted stitch I just can't seem to get it right

Skip the first stitch, knit the second stitch normally, do not slip it off, Now turn your work around so you can knit the skipped stitch normally and slip both loops off the left needle.
You start out with 2 stitchs and end up with 2 stitches having knitted , them out of order. This makes a mini -cable , It won't look like much of anything until you have several column of them, then you will start to see the effect better.

How t change knitting instructions 5ply to 8ply

First of all try a guage/tension swatch. Cast on 25 stitches, use 5,5 mm needles and knit stocking stitch for 4 ins. This should tell you if the pattern will work with these needles and yarn.
Count your stitches over the 4 ins and see wht you have to the inch. This is your guage oe=r tension then check with your pattern to see what the guage/tension is.
To change a pattern this drastically needs an experienced knitter
If it is the pattern only that you want. then find a pattern for 8 ply and use the stitch count on the original pattern and modify for the new pattern.I wish you luck.

Knitting troubleshooting

More than likely, they want you to knit one stitch I between slipping two so the one stitch you knit forms a, how to explain it, a wall of sorts. That way you get two small holes in the pattern rather than one big hole and it tends to looks like a pretty lave pattern. Hope that helps :)
