I expect you will find that the motor is open circuit. There is a thermal fuse incorporated into one of the field windings which can be replaced with a bit of messing about. A job for a retired appliance service person if you want to keep the price down. Did one today, took about an hour from start to finish.

Pretty much that is what happened to me. I found that the motor has 2 "thermal cut-offs" (SEFUSE 113oC). If the motor heats up even a little, these babies kill your blender. They are thermal fuses. Once they blow, it is over until they are replaced. To fix this, the motor must be removed. The spline gismo on top of the blender unscrews with reversed threads. I suggest unsoldering the lead wires from the power supply board, and replacing when done. The cut-offs are inside the taped on white cloth insulation on the top of the field magnets near the brush assemblies on both sides. I replaced them (both were blown) with 2 of NTE8242 ($1.60 each, 240oC 15A). These are way too hot, but that is what I had on hand. I thought that the electronics were defective at first, and I replaced the entire board assembly with a small/cheap ceiling fan wall switch /speed controller from the hardware store (600W 5A) for $10. The root cause of all of this is that the motor fan is not working. The airflow is blocked by base. I put small extenders on the feet and now there is much more airflow. Only time will tell if this is an effective fix. It appears to me that the device my have started out "nice" when it was designed, but cheapened (probably by middle managers taking bonuses for "improving" the design) many times. The fuse is gone, the case is plastic, etc. It really makes me wonder how it got past UL approval.
if you over loaded these machines there is a thermal fuse one time shot will blow . it is not resettable , you can buy them @ Radio Shack 8 amp should do fine . it might be stamped with the rating value too. need a test meter to check component very small .187 diameter & .750 length apx
I had the exact same problem with my Cuisinart bfp-703ch blender. When I plug it in, the lights come on but the motor wouldn't run. After reading some posts I almost decided to throw it away. But my brain started to itch and I gave it a shot anyway. I eventually found the problem to be with the Thermal fuse. If you overload/overheat the blender, this fuse is going to blow off.
To replace it, I opened the bottom panel and followed the wires that come from the circuit. Once of those wires eventually will lead to the thermal fuse. It may help you if you unscrew the circuit board. Then I detached the fuse with pliers, got a replacement thermal fuse from Radioshack and connected it back on. I also had to solder it to make sure the connection is more robust. And Voila!!! my motor started working again.
you most likely have blown the thermal fuse. I just fixed my blender which had the same problem but only after I bought a another base:< If you are a handy person, it is a very simple fix. buy a 10 amp thermal fuse from "RadioShack" for $1.69. Sadly, it is cheaper to buy a new blender than have it fixed at a repair shop.
