Laptop wont boot up

Hello,You must not have anythinghooked up to the computer not a printer telephone cord for modem nothing.

You must remove the battery and the poweradapter.

You hold the power button down for two minutesto purge out the residual memory and power.

Then you plug only the power adaper in and tryto boot up.Sometimes you have to hold the power button down a little longer toget it to boot.

If it does not boot then try unplugging the cordand hold it down another two minutes.

Try again with just the battery.

If neither work you may have a bad battery aswell as power cord or possibly just a bad power cord that is not charging thebattery.
Pleaselet me know if you have any further questions or concerns.Alsoplease rate it if you like the answer it helps alot.Thanks.

Nothing but multi colered lines verticly on the screen

Try this:
Turn it off.
Disconnect power cord and any other device attached to it.
Take battery out.
Without anything attached. Hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Connect the power cord only.
Hold down F2 (while it's off)
Turn it on while holding down F2.
Let go of F2 when something comes out of the screen.
If multi colored lines still appears.
You have either defective LCD(screen) or video card.

Toshiba satellite m35x-s114 boots to the toshiba screen then doesn't do anything else. Even with the f2 or f12 option nothing happens. I hear the fan (I think it is the fan) then no sound at all. I have to...

Try getting to the bios screen, if you can get to the bios screen then I would imagine the hard drive has failed. If it is hanging up at the toshiba splash screen and not allowing BIOS access, then I would lean toward a motherboard failure. Are you attempting a boot from the windows disc?, is that why you are trying F12? I have seen my share of these Toshiba M35's just give the Toshiba splash screen when there has been a motherboard issue. Changing out the main board will fix this particular problem. I had not found another solution for it.

My navigon 5100 gps wont charge while in use

Switch it on and let it totally discharge - the battery could have established a memory and thinks that it is fully charged -the wonderful world of electronics where nothing is what it seems.
Once discharged put it to OFF position and recahrge it.
Good Luck

Toshiba Satellite L25-S1216 - blank screen

Try to shutdown, remove battery, remove AC plug, Press and Hold Power button for 30 seconds, replace battery and AC adapter and test.
do you hear windows booting ( the startup sound) after a few minutes, if so there may be a monitor hardware problem

Toshiba laptop power light is on but nothing is working

When you turn the computer ON, can you hear something running on the laptop? If yes, have you tried taking out the battery & just turn the computer ON with the ac charger plugged-in? If you tried to turn ON the computer with the fully charged battery with the above troubleshooting but still there's no display on the screen, then I think there's something wrong with your hardware (maybe the LCD or the motherboard). You could also try using an external monitor to test if it's your LCD that's defective, if not it's your systemboard. Try calling their tech support hotline.

Hope this helps.

Failure to work

Hello Ruxi,
The problem could be viral in nature.
Are you running an Anti Virus application, and if so are it's virus definitions up to date?
Do you hear any sounds (through your speakers, or the hard drive spinning) when you re boot the computer? And what do you mean by "it just broke down"?
Have you tried to enter your BIOS or boot to "Safe Mode" on boot or do you not even see anything on the screen at all ever now?
You can try the above if you haven't already, and let us know what you find.
We'll be checking on this, and Good luck.
